Humorous British writer Berry Fleming penned Colonel Effingham's Raid (1943) which became a film by the same name two years later. He published his first novel The Conqueror's Stone in 1927 and went on to write 18 more books, most of which were popular during the '30s and '40s. He basically abandoned writing after WW II but made a brief comeback during the 1980s. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi
