Actors -  Fred Stanton

A forceful screen heavy of the 1920s, in every sense of the word, 6'2" Fred Stanton starred in such popular stage plays as The College Widow, The Round Up, and The Virginian prior to entering films with Metro in the late 1910s. Very busy until his death from stomach cancer in 1925, Stanton was especially effective as the villain in the 1917 Francis X. Bushman-Beverly Bayne serial The Great Secret and as Big George Bolt in the 1920 version of Rex Beach's The Silver Horde. ~ Hans J. Wollstein, Rovi
