The wizened actor playing the butler, Poole, in John Barrymore's version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1920), George S. Stevens had come to America with British stage diva (and royal mistress) Lilie Langtry and later toured with the A.M. Palmer Stock Company.
