Although rarely receiving billing -- or speaking parts for that matter -- Herman Nolan (born Nowlin) was a constant presence in B-Westerns from the early 1930s to his retirement in the mid-'40s, riding with every cowboy on the cinematic range from Tom Mix to Don "Red" Barry.
