Actors -  L. Jeffrey Selznick

The son of mogul David O. Selznick and theatrical producer Irene Mayer Selznick, L. Jeffrey Selznick (not to be confused with his grandfather, silent movie producer Lewis Jeffrey Selznick, for whom he was named) has worn many hats in the movie industry. He was an assistant director, an assistant editor, a production editor, and a studio manager. Selznick and his brother Daniel earned a Peabody Award in 1989 for executive producing The Making of a Legend: Gone With the Wind. The same year, Selznick was appointed as the president of the Louis B. Mayer Foundation, which his grandfather set up years before to support education in the arts. Selznick died of a heart attack during a business meeting in Los Angeles on May 12, 1997. He was 64. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi
