Composer Leroy Holmes worked closely with three major labels, MGM Records, United Artists and Elektra, but earlier in his career he had scored Hollywood films and radio programs, and worked as an arranger for Vincent Lopez and Harry James. Holms learned his craft at the Northwestern School of Music and Julliard. In 1934, he founded his own band.
