An architect prior to making his London stage bow as a supernumerary in 1913, Shayle Gardner later became a popular character actor in British films of the 1920s. He spent a few years in Hollywood just after the advent of sound and is perhaps best remembered for playing Dr. Williams to George Arliss' Distraeli (1929) and as the detective, Harding, in The Return of Dr. Fu Manchu (1930). ~ Hans J.
