Wow, I'm ridiculously late to the party. But this movie does have somewhat of an ''origin'' back story. I don't know if the Spill crew caught this, but the first infected zombie in this movie (the old uncle) is actually the vet from the first film who was taking care of the first initial infected dog. That's how he was bit, and that's the connection to the first film.

You know, I really do not care for their opinion. That is why its called their opinion, I lOVE REC AND LOVE REC 2, like you have no idea, I heard this is different but so what? I know I will love this one. I've had different views from these guys.

My soul hurts because this movie doesn't sound great. The first two have a special place in my heart for horror movies. Oh well. I'll still check it out and hey, maybe it'll surprise me.

Wow wow wow! I feel like an idiot, every time you guys mentioned "REC" before this review I thought you guys were talking about a movie called "Wreck." *sigh* I have so much to learn.

I tend to get hopped on when I say I'm not a big fan of Evil Dead 2 and 3 because they turned into Comedys. I prefered the serious tone of part 1.

But seriously. I heard Chris Hardwick, Robert Kirkman, even George Romero say that those are NOT Zombie movies. They are just alive and infected. I'm sure you will tell me "Well, there is no cure so there is no cure" REC has a cure though they yet to show anybody actually being cured.

    Zombies are the Dead Reanimated.

    NOW WHO'S WITH ME!!

I guess I'll be the first to say it...

I noticed (some of) you guys keep calling this movie a Zombie movie but, is it really a zombie movie? It more of a Horror epidemic movie.

@Martymart, "Dead Alive" isn't pronounced "Braindead"; they're the same film but different countries have different names for certain films.  What you meant to write is that "Dead Alive" is also known as "Braindead"

It's kind of odd REC and REC², perfect. But REC 3 Genesis and REC 4 Apocalypse O_o! Come on! I mean, those titles sound more like Resident Evil titles than original REC franchise.

I hope REC: Apocalypse saves this saga. I hope Jaume Balagueró makes a great last film.

I think it wont be scarey at all but badass I was a little hooked when the bride said, "This is my special day." with a CHAINSAW? that's pretty awesome.

Really disappointed to hear about this. I love the first [REC], second one was okay, but I'm afraid they might be taking it too far with the sequels.

I LOVE Rec 1. Really enjoyed the new camera angles and perspectives in Rec 2 but not so much the story. This? This looks like a zombie parody. Is it even shot in found footage style? This looks bad.

    dear Cyrus

    Dead Alive is pronounced Braindead

    sincerely, a film snob.
