This is a "Better than Sex" for me. Not sure I ever laughed so hard in a movie theater before. Its one of the funniest movies I've seen.

Just got back from the cinema and have to say that this film was a lot better than I expected. Whilst not every joke knocks it out of the park, I still got consistent laughs throughout. I'd give it a matinee on the spill rating system. I would like to go higher but 2 weeks ago I saw Project X which to me was a high 'full price' near 'better than sex', and sadly 21 jump street isn't on that level

I LOVED the Movie. I have not had this much fun at the movies in a LONG time. The characters, the plot, the acting, the writing, the directing, even the cameo's were Awesome. This is one of the comedies I've seen in years, so this is not only a BETTER THAN SEX, but will definitively be in my top 10 of 2012.

I completely agree with you guys, while this movie is pretty hilarious it can’t be helped that a couple of jokes just didn’t deliver. I would have to agree that Tatum’s and Hill’s relationship was perfectly cast and dialogued and Jonah Hill has been surprisingly great lately. All the self referential humor had to be my favorite jokes like Captain Jack showing up and all the explosion jokes, and the portrayal of high school was pretty accurate. I’ll give it a matinee. I would also like to say that during the previews no laughs were given to the MIB preview while everybody laughed at That’s my Boy. I did not play in to this cliché so maybe there is something to be said on what I find funny.

I agree with most of what you're saying, except the rating... this movie is fucking hilarious and I cant wait to watch it again... FULL FUCKING PRICE

After listening to the review I was expecting more after watching 21 Jump Street.  The first half of the movie was good but it was 30 mins too long and the last half wasn't funny at all.  It's worth a rent but not seven bucks at a matinee showing.

Man...it seemed like you guys were talking this up to a Better Than Sex rating, especially Co-Host and Leon, and then you all just gave it a lackluster Matinee?  I'm confused. Has there ever been a comedy worth the highest rating for any of you guys?

The very end where Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill were reciting the Rights to the bad guy was probably my favorite part of the movie.  Really showed how good of buds Hill and Tatum were.  High Full Price for me.

@Chris-thulu  I just graduated and I can tell you that , at least for my school  this is a true representation of whats cool.  Its no longer not cool to use gay as an insult.  Actually when you use the word gay as an insult, the cool kids will bash you.  The jocks in my school are not the cool kids but just regular people.  the cool kids are the ones in the most clubs in charge of the most things and make good grades too.  So yea i would say its different

saw it last night as well. loved it.  One of the funnier movies I have seen this year.  Skinnier jonah hill weirds me out though. he looks more of a manchild than he did in superbad.

Saw it last night. Funniest movie I have seen since Horrible Bosses. This was just a fun time at the movie. I went with a friends and we were laughing our asses off. Compared to that shitpile called John Carter, this is a high FULL PRICE!!!

I agree with some of the aforementioned comments in that it really sounds like you guys are all describing a full price movie the entire review.  Kind of surprised to see matinees across the board.  It's a high full price for me, and I got exactly what I wanted out of it once I got past the first 7 minutes, which were essentially the trailer.

I just got back from this, and I have to say its been awhile since I've had such a good time with a comedy. There wasn't one person in that theater that was cracking up at one point or another. This is also the best Channing Tatum we have seen thus far EASILY. I sure didn't expect him to cut loose in a comedic role of all things but he did. 21 Jump Street is a true modern day buddy cop movie that brings in all the elements that make for a good modern day comedy and punches it in the balls a few more times for good measure (pun intended). Now it isn't the show you grew up watching but damn if I didn't have a good time watching this tonight with an audience that felt the exact same way. Oh and the "surprise" cameo at the end definitely caught me off guard lol. ...They left this open for a sequel and all I can say is BRING IT!

I like the role reversal idea, but is there any truth to their depiction of today's high school?
Have sensitive, geeky, liberals really become the cool kids of the school? Or is this just wish fulfillment?

I don't know anyone currently in high school, so maybe things have changed. But my co-workers who have teenagers, all they talk about is the sports their kids play, and college scouts. Which sounds like the jocks still have the highest status. Any thoughts?

Just saw it and it was so much damn fun. The editing/ADR was obviously choppy at times and the love story really didn't work, but everything else so made up for it. I'd give it a really high Matinee.
