If it is true that this movie is trying to keep a foot in reality than it is extremly offensive, maybe that's coming from someone from months later (if you know what i'm talking about) but this just sounds horrible. If it was fully cartoony than yeah i wouldn't mind but this is just sooooo bad. If you want to get my perspective watch the episode of Law and Order Svu Dreams Deferred, at least the opening, not only is it great television, but it perfectly demonstrates what is fucking terrifying about this epidemic. Plus it would make you realize that the guy in this movie is a complete monster.

Joel Murray was not in Scrooged. John was, playing Bill's brother and Brian played their dad! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096061/fullcredits#cast

I actually very much liked the movie. But all your complaints are correct as well. It would of been nice if he had at least realized that all that he had done was completely wrong. Especially after watching it and letting it stew in my head for a few minutes. That shit was dark.

I really hope this was recorded after the Lockout review.. Co-Host and Cyrus sound like their really getting along :) (grinding through all these recent reviews now, couldn't help but notice the fight...)

I remember seeing Goldthwait on Space Ghost Coast 2 Coast haha

When I read the blurb and saw Goldthwait's name attached, I immediately thought "wow, there is no way he's going to even hint at the possibility that this character is even slightly in the wrong for what he thinks and does."

And I felt really good about myself when it turned out my assumptions were almost exactly right. It really does sound like a crappier, less self-aware version of Falling Down.

I sense that if this was directed by Uwe Boll it would be hated by everyone but since bobcat made it many critics are saying how great it is. It has 89% on rotten tomatoes...

Really great review guys, even though you said it had a lot of problems, somehow you guys still made me want to see it.

My favorite scene in the movie is where he goes to buy some guns & the gun dealer dose nothing but quote movies at him.

I really agree with Leon's bit about so much more to see. I thought the satire worked 70% of the time, but the moments where Frank just spouts out his thoughts to the camera, it just felt like an uninformed old man screaming at kids. Odd that Leon would be against that. ;P I'd give it a MATINEE.

    "WHORES DON'T GET CARS!!!"

That's all I hear when I see this guy.

It slightly disturbs me to know that there are films out there that have the fascist idea of getting rid of "useless" members of society and actually don't show that that idea is profoundly evil. Who has the moral highground to say who does and does not contribute? that's right: noone and I am shocked that films like this can embrace the idea of killing as a solution without showing the corrupt and inhuman nature of that idea. I'd have to give this a fuck you from what i've heard so far.

Sooooo....you guys want to kill people who talk in movie theaters? I know they are annoying.....but kill them?

Man, I though Leon would really love this movie.

This is the first I'm hearing about this movie.  Love the idea and also love Murray getting a chance to run with a movie.  Last I saw him he was a cop in a silent movie.

Filmmakers like Goldthwait aren't really my cup of tea, so I'll probably skip this one. I have nothing against dark material in movies, but I don't feel like sitting through 2 hours of "GRRRRRR I'm so fucking angry! Fuck the world and all of you fucking cunts!"

I'm looking forward to this movie. The trailer had a 'Kick Ass' vibe to it.

From the trailers it kind of made me think of a modernized Falling Down, mixed with Natural Born Killers. I can't wait to see it, I loved World's Greatest Dad.

I really liked this movie and was happily surprised it was more then just a blue state revenge film( Which I would have been happy with). Frank is killing people not because he disagrees with their politics but because they are bad people.

    Glad to see it reviewed.

I really enjoyed it myself. Certainly does beat you over the head with its message and isn't the most well crafted film of the year...but I laughed quite a lot, had a lot of fun and empathized enough with the characters...to a scary degree...to not care how the events of the film played out.
