Unm.. Man I appreciate the intentions but your just brining up pretty old stuff and  I think you missing the point.

Yes, there are many bad stuff that Christianity got involve with holly wars, bigotry, scandals etc. (which happened in any other religions from Muslims to Buddhists… and not just religions since we all know what big believers the communist where)

However while those things did happened that doesn’t change the fact that ideals are still there.  Are there some black sheep’s in the catholic church? Sure there are! Will that stopping me from knowing that God is up there, gaining happiness from spirituality, and fading the teachings of Jesus Christ wise? Why would it? I join this religion because I admire it ideals and personal experience that point me to it, and while it’s a shame this religion had some black moment’s in its history doesn’t hurt my opinion of what I experience with this church. Just because I run into a drunk doctor a couple of times doesn’t make me loosing faith in modern medicine. All Priests and nuns I’m friends with are gentle, generous, tolerant, hard working and intelligent people faithful to their ideas. Heck, I know atheists and agnostic who have gigantic respect to John Paul II for all the stuff he did and find wisdom and morals in his books.

By your logic we should hate Germany today just because they use to have Natzis in their country.

I don’t want to go on a rant about my spiritual experience and life, I just hate religion bashing bigots and Clergyphonbics… All I can do is pray for them.

One of the most repeated phrases by individuals of certain political currents that you could think of is that of "science and religion are incompatible." The funny thing is that those who say that phrase know nothing of science or religion. History, that thing you hardly see that we often should take as an example to solve current problems, also teaches us a very large number of examples of scientists who juggled work perfectly with their beliefs. In fact, there may be some, but from what I know, all of the famous scientists who have made great contributions to science were believers (most were Christians, by the way).

But what better way to show you than with some examples:

    Gregor Mendel
The best example is perhaps Gregor Mendel, discoverer of heredity, and Augustinian monk. He was in charge of the garden of his monastery, and while cultivating peas he realized that there were a number of features that were passed from one another by descent.
Newton, probably the most important physicist ever, came to write books on biblical numerology, and said: "This most beautiful system of suns, planets, and comets could only proceed from the counsel and dominion of an intelligent and powerful being" .
Nicolaus Copernicus, the first scientist of modern times to realize that the heliocentric solar system, ie, that it revolves around the sun. His theory was presented in the gardens of the Vatican before Pope Clement VII who suggested publishing, unlike to what some believe. In his works there are many references to God, and he never thought that his theory conflicted with Christianity.
Plank, famous for his quantum theory which led to the understanding of atoms, said in his lecture in 1937 called "Religion and Science" that "the holiness of the unintelligible Godhead is conveyed by the holiness of symbols. [...] Both science and religion wage a tireless struggle against skepticism and dogmatism, against disbelief and superstition. "
Charles Darwin, even for what he suffered due to the controversy of his theories, he studied theology at Cambridge University with the goal of becoming a priest, He would finally devote himself to his developmental research.
Faraday, whose research on magnetism and elctricity made huge advances to Physics and Engineering. He was one of the most important members of the Sandemanians, a branch of the Protestant Presbyterians.
Albert Einstein. I didn't really know if I should put him on this list because there are statements of him circulating on the Internet rather contradictory on this issue. According to the Encyclopedia Britannica: "Firmly denying atheism, Einstein expressed a belief in Spinoza's God who reveals himself in the harmony of what exists." He once told a young physicist: "I want to know how God created this world, I'm not interested in this or that phenomenon, in the spectrum of this or that element. I want to know his ideas, the rest are just details. " Also one of his most famous phrases is "God does not play dice," a statement which implies the affirmation of his beliefs.

Obviously these are not the only ones, the list is very long, Kepler, Pasteur, Benjamin Franklin, Pascal ... Science, and Relgion, as seen, are fully compatible.

Also, Polish supporting the catholic church is like a black man joining the clan? How the hell does one cover the other? You act like all catholics form one group regardless of their nationality, which is one of the most insanely idiotic things you could do. The only sheep here I see is you: you tell people to go google and read on all the bad shit Catholicism is responsible for. Well, first of all, I don't think all Catholics are responsible for the molestations, wars etc. My grandma was Catholic, and I don't recall her telling me how she and her neighbours voted for priests molesting altar boys...

Second, how more close minded can you get? If you google those above phrases - sure, you will get a lot of bad shit to pop up. But how about googling all the humanitarian work? All the scientists, writers, inventors who were Catholic? You seriously gonna tell me that you think that Salvador Dali was a blind sheep? You know what, here, cause you like links so much, here is a list:

    http://www.adherents.com/largecom/fam_catholic.html

See? Both bad AND good people. Now how you gonna come up to Al Pacino and tell him that he is an ignorant sheep, well, this I wanna see.

    @ Hendirx

Being alergic to truth? That's funny that you put those words that way. People who want me to sway towards their religion also try to convince me that they know "the truth".

All the stuff you mentioned is can be related to religion, I do not disagree. People who abuse others on spiritual level and use them for their own ends deserve to be hanged by their balls/tits. But these people would be bigoted and teach their children their bigotry REGARDLESS of their faith or lack of it. Violence, fear, stupidty... this are not concepts related only to religion. If it was so, all the atheists on this fucking planet would be saints and hey, guess what. Soviet Russia and their communist manifesto, which bashed religion as a whole? Not to humanae, trust me, my country lived it. And you know what? Catholicism was one of big steps that polish people used to overthrow comunism. Our priests were interogated, tortured and even executed; those who decided to go to church risked severe repressions. It helped our country to get rid of the Red Fucks.

If you want to use historical facts, be more comprehensive. Religion has had a huge influence on the world - both bad and good.

Hendrix, Hitler wasn't a Catholic. Look at all his closest friends, they were all atheists. Moreover, he made fun of Catholicism, he just used it to manipulate a heavily Catholic country.

It's sad that the U.S. prides itself on religious freedom when it is actually one of the least tolerant of religious diversity, as evidenced by the history of prejudice against Catholics, distrust of the Mormons, and more recently the intolerance of - and hatred towards - Islam.

Człowieku, wyluzuj. Takie rzeczy cie ruszają? Bo jeśli tak, to ta strona i jej użytkownicy/twórcy cie zeżrą. Luzuj poślady.

    @ Hendrix

You forget that people in Poland are and were predominantely catholic since way-fucking-back. What does that have to do with anything? You also should stop blaming religion as the source of violence. Because it's bullshit. Religion is only an excuse for violence, not the source of it. The reasons for violence and conflict remain the same: greed for wealth and control. All the stuff you mentioned, Borgias and inquisition? Political moves, attacks to gain money, power, influence over land. Molestation scandals? These fucks abuse their position and they should pay, but it is not religion that is to blame: it's us. People. Bein a priest doesn't make you a sex fiend, just as bein a sex fiend does not mean that you are suitable to be a priest.

By blindly bashing religion, Christian Roman Catholics or any other, you fall on the same line of rhethoric as fanatics/fundamentalists from those groups use to denounce whatever group they deem as "the enemy" at that time. BTW, I am both Polish and atheist.

    @ SUSchato

I am fairly certain that you are half-joking, so I will not turn my overwhelming righteous fury on you... Because if I do, I'm warning you... that there will be probably no consequences, since this is the internet and no sane person gives a shit about silly stuff written here...

That's true, but for some reason it sounds funny coming from Andy Garcia.
