i didnt love the movie but i did like it. charlize theron was the highlight for me. i wish they could have fleshed out her character more. i agree the movie has a slow build especially after snowwhite meets up with the huntsman but overall i enjoyed it. i dont get all the references to other movies that you guys see. i didnt know that lord of the rings was the first movie to ever show landscapes and people riding on horses lol. what is cyrus talking about??? i dont like to compare movies that have NOTHING in common, yes this is a fantasy movie but other then that how can you compare it to lord of rings or stars? to compare it to other versions of snow white would be more accurate. hope the sequel will give it a chance to grow as a new franchise

Did we watch the same movie? The movie I watched was extremely slow and very boring. Kristen Stewart was a terrible casting choice because she wasn't interesting to watch. The Queen, while I thought her performance was amazing, her character lacked depth. Why did she want to take over kingdoms? I get that she hates men, but what is she doing by becoming ruler? Moving on the love triangle...what was the conflict there? It was completely left open. I didn't feel any sort of tension there. The characters were just there and didn't seem to be complimenting or conflicting each other at all. I mean..props to Rupert Sanders for his first feature being as artistically beautiful as this movie was, but he should have been able to tell that there were plot holes, that many of his characters were flat, and that this could have been better as a whole. I agree with that many of little things in the script and certain shots and even characters were stolen from other movies. Some movies that were robbed: Romancing the Stone, Lord of the Rings, and Princess Mononoke. I would have given it a rental.

This movie kicked ASS!  One of the best so far this summer.  Second only to The Avengers of course.

very enjoyable and full of entertainment
I like the actors, the amazing scenery, the costume designs, and the dazzling visuals
it does take a while though for the plot to get moving
Kristen Stewart is herself pretty much but updated to a strong, fighting warrior princess and not a dandy damsel in distress, I'll admit Charlize Theron projects the evil queen so vividly and very raw, and Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman is fierce
Sam Claflin unfortunately is so forgettable even though he's supposed to be the main heroine's love interest
this new take on the classic fairytale is much more darker, gothic and real
director Rupert Sanders however flawed his actors are and if the writing isn't up to speed he still brings an equilibrium to the light and dark of the Snow White world
the Dwarves in here for a short time but they relax the tension and bring some comfort to a fallen kingdom
"Snow White and The Huntsman" is visually spectacular, grim, gritty, and epic-ish

p.s. I understand Kristen Stewart is not one of the better actresses today but she does try with this material

and Charlize treats it like Shakespeare if at times overzealous

I really like the music in this too, James Newton Howard rules

The semi-accent that everyone just kinda accepts is getting annoying.  It was a two hour movie and it still felt rushed.  The Fellowship of the Ring was comparable in length and yet so much more happened in that film.  The huntsman character was done better in True Grit.  It wan't even that dark of a movie.  The worst thing that happens is a young lady has her youth stolen via gasping.

I'm getting a stronger "Elizabeth Bathory" vibe than a "wicked stepmother" vibe from Charlize Theron's performance.

Yeah and with the love triangle  thing....Why are two handsome guys always fighting over this dog faced girl????

It's a very high rental or very low matinee.... though Theron was amazing!!!!!!!! Kristen dog faced Stewart did her stare off into space style acting(typical)....Hemsworth looked like he was aggravated with Stewart(probably thinking; "Lord this bitch can't act."). I enjoyed it whenever the Queen was on screen. When Stewart had to do a monologue she almost stumbled over her lines....pathetic....

Oh yeah she's hot. You can see it from the trailer image.....

p.s. sarcasm (she's not as hot as charlize theron)

Honestly, Theron chewed the scenery while Stewart looked like a sad chipmunk...

I was in it for the dwarves.

Eh. It felt like the director's audition for a Game of Thrones episode while blending in bits of Lord of the Rings. The tech designs were good, but the characters and plot were just kind of flat. Kristen Stewart was not terrible, but her character was too one dimensional to give her anything to do. Charlize Theron overacts her head off, reading every line like she is wearing a corset and posing for a couple of pointless nude scenes. They even got a bunch of great actors for the dwarves, but not enough time to do anything with them, The only actor who gave me anything was Chris Hemsworth because at least he gave a little personality to his character. They even attempted to introduce a love triangle, but did nothing with it.

I would say somewhere between HIGH RENTAL and LOW MATINEE. I never hated it, but I did not really find anything outside some of the technical work more than note worthy.

Could not have disagreed with Cohost's nonsense more this episode. Could Brian Salisbury be added to the crew?

But Kristen Stewart as the woman with 'skin as white as snow', is genius casting.
