...on Batman getting out of the batpod, they show a scene after Blake says "get down it's happening" where Batman's still driving the pod.

I am aware this movie has a few plot holes or whatever, but! I really think this is a great finale to Nolan's Batman film series. I think it's coo, how Selina Kyle is never called Catwoman in this movie, and the return of Batman was really cool! I think so anyways. Oh, and John Blake at the end of the movie, in the batcave. So awesome!

They could bring Bane back since he had that body armor on.

Batman was pretty much trained by ninjas/assassins, which is why he acted as such in Batman Begins. It is odd that he no longer used his most valuable skills in Batman Rises, though. However, maybe his shitty fighting style (against Bane) was a result of him already being broken from the begining of the film.

One possibility: Blake will become Robin and the kid who's brother died in the sewers could become Nightwing.
This probably won't be the case, however, since it'd make no sense for Robin to use his real name while wearing the mask. Therefore, Robin will most likely become Nightwing.

I agree with the spill crew entirely. I waited to write this comment because I wanted to catch up on some of the comic book story arcs that this movie showed such as Cataclysm, No Mans Land, and Knightfall. The movie hit the target each time in its own way and worked. I didn't buy the whole bomb thing either because the spill crew is right- i mean I could do this in a week instead of 3 months and plus I know for damn sure the U.S gov't would nip this in the butt earlier (I might be wrong Gov't has fucked up a whole lot in the past 10 years) and NO police commish  in there right mind would send the entire cities police in a sewer to take down a group of mercenaries and without anyone in the city noticing. Bane died like a punk instead of getting the glorious death that he o' so deserved, and I call bullshit on the Batman gadgets. I thought Batman was given no justice with his gadgets, there should have been more. All and all this was an amazing flick. Can't wait and see what Nolan's going to do with Superman.

I would also like to share this rare expirence I had when the movie first came out. On the friday when the movie first came out I woke up to the news about the colorado movie shooting and was shock to the point I almost shit myself. Fucking Insanity! After reading up on all the news about the tragedy (and feeling really guilty about it after) i had to go and see this movie. But it wasn't the thrill of death that made me remember this day, but the preview before the movie started. Every movie thearter is own by a company or locally so your not going to get the same line of previews everytime. I went to the Regal theater that day, went into the room and sat down in the 3rd row and (regrettably) joked about the shooting (and so was everyone else in the theater. I am from NY so I can understand that most people in this state "DON"T GIVE A FUCK!) The previews roll and everyone is still laughing about it saying  "Or you might get shot", "Beats sitting in the 1st row", stupid shit like that. Then the preview for "Gangster Squad" came on and to me it look pretty good until the last scene in the preveiw came on showing a group of mobsters behind a movie screen SHOOTING AT THE AUDIENCE WITH TOMMY GUNS! Preview ended, enjoy the Batman movie.......I shit you not ladies and gentlemen the people in this theater flipped the fuck out! Mothers were screaming, kids were crying, folks walked out asking for their money back, I got so wound up I got up yelling out "FFFUUUCCCKKKK NO HOLLYWOOD! TOO FUCKING SOON! I even went to check the fire exit just to make sure this was not going to be some fucking prank. Spill.com you must understand where I'm coming from this shit happened the next day(or later that day because it happened during a midnight showing) after the shooting. I mean tell me if can say this? Is this a WTF moment or what?

I thought this movie was amazing.......until the third act. First, Talia was a nice little nod to the comics, but she completely destroyed bane as a character for me. Like most fans, i was waiting for bane to be the mastermind and threat he was in Knightfall, but making Talia the mastermind just made Bane seem more like a pawn or bodyguard rather than an actual villain. it made Bane seem like someone who just carries out orders. Second, the final fight between batman and bane was a disappointment. the second Batman knocks off two tubes from Bane's mask, the fight becomes so one sided it's ridiculous. Bane crippled batman during the first fight, but swings his fists blindly during the final fight, he punches a wall for god's sake, TWICE! the fight also was too short with a very unsatisfying climax. I would have loved to see a fight that pushes batman near the point of killing bane, only to remember what separates him from Bane. Bane doesn't nearly push batman like the Joker did, it got to the point where batman threw the Joker off a building. Last, Having Catwoman kill Bane was a complete cop out. it should have ended with Batman nearly killing Bane only for Bane to say something like: "After everything that I've done to this city. After all your losses, you still lack strength to do all that is necessary. However, it doesn't matter if you kill me or not, Gotham has mere minutes until balance is restored."   THAT, would have been epic. Still the first two acts hold up pretty well for me. Full Price for me.

Really great discussion guys, I think I agree with Cyrus and Leon most on this one. I don't get all those people saying that Co-Host and Cyrus get really fanboyish in these types of discussions, as I thought both Cyrus and Co-Host supported their opinions really well, and made the points they were making clear to understand.

Take Talia Al Ghul out of the movie and most of the flaws go away. She weakens the Selina/Bruce relationship, introduces her own contradictory/weak motives, weakens Bane as a villain, and they don't really use her enough to do the character its own justice.

I felt like the story was developed well however i felt like the characters on the side had less purpose and developement. Catwomen was a bit disapointing only in the sense that her purpose in the story was lacking depth. Talia had an excellent build up however right when she arives she leaves which was disapointing because this character in particular has such a huge effect on Bruce Wayne. As much as I love the scarecrow cameo I still wish that he had more to do especially after how he was creepily presented in Batman Begins. I felt likeI felt Blake was presented in the respect where he was not a sidekick but he was a true believer in not only Batman but true justice and his character perfectly fits in the story. The climactic city fight was brilliant because the final battle was between the criminals and the cops who had a true belief in their jobs of protecting gotham it brings me back to the point that there are characters who have been completely inspired by Batman and everything Batman stands for. This movie was a perfect climax to the tilogy in a sense that the idea of the batman is eternal in this city and now that he has saved  this city the future is completely open.

How Batman use his tricks on Bane? Bane made it clear that Batmans tricks wouldn't work because Bane trained at the same place where Bruce trained. Batman tried, got his ass kicked and he started throwing shit at Bane.

I really wanted to get through the entire discussion before writing anything, but I couldn't. I know yall probably don't even read these comments but I just had to say that I feel like Korey is literally voicing every grievance I had with this film.  Batman's super fast, completely unexplained arrival back in Gotham, as well as how Catwoman destroyed the climax of the movie by shooting Bane.  I haven't heard the last 20 mins. of the discussion yet but I thought Talia Al-Ghoul's part in this film was just a total easter egg.  I thought Marillon Cotillard did not do a great job as her (this is coming from a person who loved her performance in Inception and as Edith Piaf), she and Bruce Wayne seemed to have no chemistry whatsoever and the love scene seemed incredible awkward and random.  I would have much rather seen Batman have a climactic final battle against Bane and, if they still decided to keep Talia as the antagonist, show a bit more of Bane's real origin.

PS: Cyrus, what happened man? I used to be totally on board with your opinions and views but it seems like you and Co-Host get kinda fanboy-ish when it comes to comic book based films.  No offense Co-Host.

This isn't the batman from the comic books.  I live in a wold where even Batman quits.  Fuck that, This batman movie is dead to me.    Thank good they are doing the Dark Knight Returns and Nolan doesn't have his horrible hands on it.

@Sploich In my opinion I think this was the closest to the soul of the comic book character that live-action iterations of Batman have ever gotten and personally Anne Hathaway surprised me in a positive way. And yes it's true that it's not like Batman to just not save people, unless they're perfectly capable of saving themselves, especially if they have to get out of a predicament that they started. But I think that Batman's character comes down to this: Batman doesn't "kill", and he doesn't "use guns". Both of these were addressed in Nolan's movies. So to me, it really isn't all bad.

My sister and I both came out of this movie absolutely despising the way they did Catwoman, and for a while everybody I talked to seemed to agree that she was pointless and used poorly. Now I can't find anybody who doesn't get furious at me for not liking her. Weird.

My biggest problem with her was the end, when she blasts away Bane. It does feel like they threw that character away too quickly. After so much build-up, he ultimately barely had anything to do with the story. But what pisses me off is Catwoman and her quip after shooting him. The movie basically says, "Batman is wrong for not using guns," which is to me pretty much the same as the bullshit ending to Batman Begins, where he refuses to save Ra's Al Ghul. That's not Batman. That flies in the face of everything that Batman stands for. It basically says, "Killing people is okay and violence begetting violence is perfectly fine." That's just wrong to me, especially for a Batman film.

When I watched the movie and saw Batman fight Baine, I wasnt missing the stealthy/ninja Batman we saw in the 1st one.  It seems that style of fighting would only be necessary if he had to engage multiple people at the same time.  Once it becomes a 1 on 1 battle he uses a more direct approach.  He did it in Batman Begins in the final fight between him and Ras. Plus I think after being broken the 1st time out against Baine, Batman had to prove that he could defeat him with just his fighting skills.  Like the doctor from the prison told him, he has to fear death in order to fight harder to prevent it.

Didn't we see Batman try to use his gadgets on Bane on the first fight and fail?

Ugh, you guys totally spoiled the movie for me..... jsut kidding.

In regards to the complaints over the final fight between Bane and Batman, I will have to disagree with the crew on that one.  The main complaint that Batman was fight like a brawler and not his usual style.  though I had some complaints about this scene, the fighting style and feel of the scene were not the problems I had.  this was street fight plain and simple.  If Bane is a stronger Batman that does not feel pain, batman's usual techniques aren't going to win the fight, Bane has already proven that he is Baman's superior in that regard.  So he meets him in the street in broad daylight, no tricks, and punches him right in the mouth.  I'm happy this ended with a street brawl, it felt a little desperate (seeing as a nuclear bomb is about to go off)  and it totally worked for me.

I enjoyed it when you fellas start talking about where the Joker would have fit in this movie.  I liked the theory about the court scene.  If Ledger was still alive, do you think the Joker would have killed Bane?  I could see that as being a great scene that fits in with the Joker's character.

My opinion was similar to Korey's when I walked out of the dark knight marathon on 20/07. Having watched the Batman Begins and the Dark Knight right before the premiere, I did found the beginning of Rises to be somewhat anti-climatic and that throwed me off in such a way that I wasn't able to enjoy the rest of the movie. But after watching it a second time on imax (and a third time today), I became completely in love with this film, just as much as other Nolan movies. Perhaps this is the biggest difference between Avengers and TDKR, the fact that TDKR is a movie that throws of a lot of expectations, in terms of  the story and the themes.
