@Richard Dempsey: Even though he often only cares about himself and he does things he shouldn´t do Greg remains a likable kid.

I have read the books, and had there not been movies, I would've totally forgotten about them.

I find it funny that Hector is all over the comments section. I personally don't see anything in these books or movies. They're shallow, and forgettable. And Greg's an asshole.

@Hector, all I can say regarding The Ugly Truth, they need to make this the FINAL movie since the kids aren't getting any younger, and it also makes sense to end the franchise there (DOAWK5 is all about growing up and puberty after all) and end it strong.

I heard Peyton List said in an interview that if they make a 4th Wimpy Kid movie it would be based on Diary of a Wimpy Kid The Ugly Truth.

I own a couple of the books (given as a gift I didn't buy them) and they are actually not bad. By no means high literature but it's a fun little series.

I know people like to think Hector is the only Diary of a Wimpy Kid fan of Spill, but I actually hear that the series is absolutely adored in Singapore.

@Jonathan Snyder: Don´t worry Greg learns a lesson at the end of every book and movie.

I agree with Korey. I'm not a fan of these movies and only see them when I have to take my little brother to see it (this is his favorite book) but Roderick is my favorite character, mostly because his relationship with Greg is like my relationship with my little brother (who is EXACTLY like Greg!) and I can actually relate to Roderick. When he picks on Greg, it cracks me up while my little brother is like, "That's not nice, Roderick is so mean!" But, like Roderick, I know how it feels having a little brother that's a jerk and sometimes, you've got to put them in their place.

I just wanted everyone to know that I can relate to Greg because:

    1. Greg and I are easygoing guys who are a little bit unpopular in school and don´t have that many friends there.

    2. Algebra is our hardest subject in school.

    3. We both come up with plans to get a girlfriend or be famous but they sadly end up with unfair results.

    4. We both want a dog as a pet.

    5. We both like to watch T.V., watch movies, play video games, go on the internet, draw pictures, read books and comic books and exercise a little bit instead of playing sports outside.

    6. Our parents take away things we love in order to try something new.

    7.  We both prefer getting more money, movies and video games for our birthday and for Christmas instead of more clothes.

    8. Greg and I both have our share of embarrassing moments and funny moments.

    9. We both run into problems but once we sloved them we get the happy ending in the end.

@Hector, whatever works. I just hope they make it as funny as the book.

@NoMoreHeroesfan12; Diary of a Wimpy Kid The Ugly Truth could work as a movie but the writers will have to change the story because Greg and Rowley already hit puberty in real life.

I think the story should be about Greg trying to find out why Holly doesn´t notice him as much as she use too and soon he`ll discover the ugly truth about the fact that people's personality changes during puberty including Holly´s.

@Hector, what about the other books? They dont get a movie? The 5th book was the funniest and I'd love to see the 4th movie about that and the 6th book. Even though I didnt care much for 6_

@NoMoreHeroesfan12: I was just talking about the 7th book.

The first movie of this series was a gem to me, I've never seen a kids film with such a total douchebag of a lead character, it was like watching one of the darkest comedies ever, because the main kid was pretty much pure evil and it gave me joy.

Forget the sequels, but I believe the first one is underrated, it's just a different kinda comedy that doesn't want you to like it's lead character, but that's what I admire about it.

Hector and Leon should do a discussion of the books together.
