While I understand your complaints, no other documentary this year has stuck with me the way this one has. It's so goddamn beautiful and full of images that you will remember

Maybe not putting the name of the places is just part of the scam so you buy the Blu-ray with the behind the sceens so you can know where they are filming it.

Did anyone else ever listen to the Scene Unseen Movie reviews Podcast before they stopped in 2009? I ask becuse I'm pretty sure one of them said that Baraka was his favorite film. They were my go to film reviewers before I found Spill. This just reminded me of that.

Nice catch Korey, yes that is Mecca as in the place all Muslims pray toward 5 times a day aka the holiest of holies.

I'm a huge nerd for Ron Fricke, so I can answer the SW question: the scenes he filmed in Episode III were the volcano scenes.

I've been dying to see this film.  I have Baraka on Blu-Ray and am waiting for the Qaatsi series to finally be given due justice in the same format.  But this is not a film for everyone.  I personally find the films to be very thought-provoking but I understand that not everyone will feel this way.  Hopefully I will be able to catch Samsara this weekend, but chances are I'm probably gonna be going to theatre alone.  Most of my friends already have plans for the new Resident Evil movie and that's fine, too.  I'll be catching that one next week.

I realise you guys were kidding on that last point but its so true! Practically every part of the world has been discovered, and broadcasted by television and internet. However the ocean is one of the most alien things about our planet. Perhaps this movie would have been more of a success if it was focused on some of the phenomenon that inhabits put illusive oceans.

This, like Baraka, is one of the only films I'm genuinely surprised the Spill crew reviewed.  I don't even love Baraka, outside of being the most breathtaking-shot film ever.  But... it's not for them.  It's not to put them down, I fucking love the Spill crew.  But you guys are all about plot and story, and this is experimental narrative.

Cohost says "I can only look at landscapes and beautiful scenary for so long".

I'd love to see that in real life. He's travelling through some beautiful forest, and then after 30 minutes he falls asleep.

Does anyone remember Carlyle? I miss that guy.

I wonder what he would have made of this film.
