I truely appriciate Judge Dredd, because without him there would be no RoboCop. Rest assured that I will always return to RoboCop before watching this unlawful thing again.

Im honestly shocked at Korey & Co-Host at times, cause whenever they find something within a film (no matter how small it might be) that gives them a visual orgasm...it's an automatic Full Price!!

Im sorry guys but......FUCK YOU!! This flick is a Low Matinee at best, and that's being generous.

I'm from the UK and I gotta say, over here, our Batman is.... Batman. Dredd is still very much a cult figure here but certainly there's a huge amount of respect and acclaim for the series, a real UK Comics buff would know all about it.

Glad to hear this movie does it right, had totally written it off from the trailer but sounds like it's got a lot going for it I didn't know (like the writer for one thing), so will def check it out, and already hope they get a sequel so they can do the Dark Judges!!

I saw the movie. Bad ass action movie. With just a little depth for those willing to pick it apart for what's under the surface.

If I met Brian Slimeberry in real life I might like him. But for these reviews, wow does he suck. He should go back to being a writer or whatever he did before.

Sorry you're catching so much crap, Leon. Seems when it comes to watching movies, a lot of people don't understand what the word 'subjective" means. And you watch a hellua lot more movies than we do...

I enjoyed yhay last bit because hearing Korey and Leon reminds me of me and my friend, and I was cool with his opinion but he kept taking small jabs at all the compliments and that last Robocop comment iwas like "dang again?" lol

SO like I do, Korey finally thought, yo man, wats up?!

Enjoyed the review, still love all the team, it was a nice audio.

So, who gave the better performance?  Karl Urban's chin or Tom Hardy's eyebrows?

To clear one thing up, this film was written/filmed long before before The Raid even came out soooo.... yeah. ;)

To everyone hoping for a sequel, sorry to say that its extremely slim chance of happening considering its box office take. Unless the budget is greatly reduced this is the only movie we'll get.

    MATINEE.  Albeit VERY high Matinee.

    CONS:

*Gore used to half effect.  Dredd sometimes shy away a few times from showing gore to its fullest.  In the 3D scenes the blood looked to me too CG.

    PROS:

*Sharp Pacing: The film is edited well and the fact that the plotting IS simple helps the scenes go smoothly.  If one scenario fails to thrill, then another will make up for it.

*Violence: ANY scenes with guns firing is used to full effect.  The guns used by the Judges do literally everything to the point of making Tony Stark blush.  Also Dredd pulls some mean punches.

*Cinematography: Omega-City looks dead-on.  From far-shot views to inner blocks this place feels like hell and adds to the tension of the film.

*The Actors: Karl Urban great Dredd, Olivia Thirby solid Anderson, and Lena Headey scary bitch Ma-Ma.

MENTIONS that are separate from Cons:

I have seen the Raid (this premise isn’t new and has been used all the way back since Assault on Precinct 13).  That being said the Raid is better than Dredd.  That film marries its grittiness and spectacle better if only because that film was done completely practical.  Also character development is very base-level for both films.  If you’re a Judge Dredd or a comic-book fan y’all probably like the characters in Dredd more.  But for everyone else especially cinema fans I’d go with the Raid.  Characters show more vulnerability, they take significant injuries and with low resources they show more ingenuity in their tactics.

Despite mentioning all of this Dredd is totally worth seeing.  Whereas Amazing Spider-man felt very desperate at starting a new franchise, Dredd is a smartly made start that leaves seeds without us wondering the purpose behind it.  However Dredd isn’t doing so well box-office wise, so y’all should see it because it’s a good time and that way future sequels can exist.

I agree with Korey, Co-Host, and Brian on this one.  I really enjoyed this movie.  It was a massive improvement that actually cared about Dredd and the property.  This was just a really fun and clever action movie (that actually uses slow-mo to great effect).

Well, fun news guys they're really trying to develop a real life Lawgiver for police.  It's not called that but it's basically one.  It's a pistol designed with 4 barrels and 4 different clips in the handle side by side that hold different kinds of ammo that on voice command with be loaded into it barrel and fired when the trigger is pulled.  The ammo ranges from an armor piercing round to a none-lethal basically salt round(it'll break the skin and burn like hell but not kill you.) and there's a chip in the hand that won't allow you to fire it with out a special ring with another chip inside it that unlocks the safety on it.

Well, that little fun fact out the way... I haven't seen this movie yet but can't wait to see it!  I love Judge Dredd and have been waiting for a reboot that takes it seriously!

I want to see like a block war  in a sequel. would be interesting. Seeing that in the Dredd universe blocks are pretty much like towns.

Although I would give it a HIGH MATINEE and am more in agreement with Brian, Korey and Cohost, I can totally see why Leon didn't like the movie as I was watching it. While it wasn't as big of an issue for me, I too wanted a little more meat. The two main characters are well-defined, but I wish there could have been more interaction between the two instead of mostly orders and exposition
