i couldnt listen to this review as soon as i started to hear the your hate. This is one of those movies i want to decide on myself. I loved the first one and i know a lot of people hated it. i know the story changed and even charaters were movied around but i still though it had the main aspects of a good silent hill. i found it very atmospheric and creepy it had and it had the dective kind of feel to it with the clue following and most importantly the music was amazing. im not sure about this one from tyhe trailer but i will need to decide for myself

The probably should have gone with the SH2 game type story. Where the psychological horror comes from the protagonist fighting their inner demons or secrets. They could have made their own original story and maybe even come up with their own original monsters, instead of trying to place as much stuff from the games as possible just for fanservice and puting concepts from the 1st and 3rd games into a convoluted mess of a story. I keep forgetting Hollywood isn't talented enough to do something like that.

I enjoyed the 1st movie, but after hearing reviews for this one I'm afraid to even watch it. Its suffering the RE syndrome too early. I enjoyed the first 2 REs but the ones after were just shitty.

they REALLY enjoy fucking up video games these days don't they? I mean i thought the 1st Silent Hill was atleast decent for having that same type of atmosphere as the game did..close atleast (but the ending was HORRIBLE..like a clusterfuck of a mess..I hate when movies do that..they try to throw everything at you just so you think a lot is going on when really its just stupid)...buuuuuuut if THAT one was better than this one (being a big fan of the series..or atleast the 1st few games)..Im guessing I should stay faaaaaar away from this.

a decade ago..Resident Evil came to theaters I thought "awesome theyre turning one of my favorite games into a movie"...a decade later "SHIT will they stop making these shitty video game rip-offs...ENOUGH with those awful Resident Evil movies and..oh wow another Silent Hill to fuck up? Will they just stop!?"

Someone get me a hi-def camera...ill REALLY show them what a video game movie should be.

Fuck this movie. Fuck the director, fuck the producers, fuck Konami for O.K.ing it. Fuck them inside out, with Pyramid head's dick.

Dam @level1 you just made the best point out movies based on videgames ive ever heard.

I don't understand why do you guy expect good video game movies. They're different industries fighting over you time and money. Of course they'll make shitty video game movies just to point out how games are stupid. It's same with tie in movie games...

So I took 3 of my friends to see this movie. None of them had played the games or even seen the first movie. They enjoyed it so much that they're going out again next weekend to see the movie in 3D. I found the movie average, though slightly rushed, but still enjoyable. Even though things such as Pyramid Head being out of place were in the film (as it was in the first film) I still found this movie moderately enjoyable.

@Banjamin you're basically saying that they're wrong becauss they don't agree with you. Lol.

first one was wayyy better than this one.

Sam Wong, Pyramid Head is Alessa's representation of male brutality, and her "protector."

I really hope they don't do Downpour. That story is perfect to me.

I sometimes agree with the most of you guys about movie reviews, but you guys way off this time. I like this movie, but the story was rush through and characters are boring. Also, think its a little better than first one. I would give this movie 7 out of 10.

o i also hate how they put pyramid head in the movie FOR NO REASON AT ALL!!!!! PYRAMID HEAD is suppose to represent james from the second video game. Not some random ass dood that walks around silent hill tearing people apart!!!!

i dun really like the first silent hill film, because the story was so different from the games, not that i wanted the game story to be put into film. but the in ever silent hill game it was about people that has done something wrong and feeling of guilt that drives people to silent hill, and for them to face their fears

"once you enter silent hill there is no turning back" (poster tagline)

dam... they got that right. no refunds. and there was just enough visually interesting material to prevent me from walking out of silent hill.

you guys nailed it on the review. it felt like a B movie. I give credit to B movies that try and fail. at least they "try", the jury is out if this movie even did that but.... i am going to be nice and say it did. but i give credit to the visual and practical effects designers.if not for them i would have left angry.

Everything else felt like a 1 2 3 punch in the groin.

1 the movie felt 30 minutes short and what imaginary parts they cut out may have made it less confusing and like a badly edited cut scene.

2 the acting was horrible like watching the horrible Japanese anime adaptions of supernatural or x-men which seem slightly askew than the source material that leaves you feeling unsettled like there is more than one thing in silent hill not right.

    3. again you guys nailed it. they spoiled the whole plot at the start which ruined the sense of mystery and discovery for the audience. like knowing more than Snape kills Dumbledore so that even harry potter knows that at the start of the book and still cant manage to change anything. it kind of feels retarded.

i am going to file this under the "i don't give a shit" part of my memory warehouse. even Steven kings dream catcher made more sense and despite most people hating that movie,, i find it campy and fun to re watch. and even dream catcher had a mystery to follow until the end, good acting, and left enough time for explaining what the fuck was happening.

as for silenthill3 rip off movie; i am never touching this piece of shit again. much like the star ship troupers 2 movie. i did not leave angry but was just depressed after watching it.

shit... this movie tanked to 7% on RottenTomatoes: 'Featuring weak characters, an incomprehensible plot, and a decided shortage of scares, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is a mediocre effort even by the standards of video game adaptations.'

I was really looking forward to this movie, the visuals and having a character that resembles the game more

the 1st one wasn't perfect but did a very decent job with the visuals even if the changes of Cheryl's name to Sharon, Harry Mason being Rose DeSilva and Sean Bean as a forced and jarring character, Dhalia being sympathetic, having the town switch from one dimension to the other with people in them, having the cult, having Christabella, and ruining the story of the 1st game were unecessary

I did sympathize with Rhada Mitchell as Rose, Jodelle Ferland did a great job playing Sharon and Alessa, Cybill was a good supporting character, I love the gore and the creatures, and lastly how dark the movie is

I didn't mind the story at all either

but dammit, Im SKIPPING this 2nd movie and save myself the disappointment

face it guys: this 1st movie is much more preferred

Maybe I'm crazy, but I just saw this and I'd say it's an above-average horror movie. It's possible I've just had my expectations destroyed by the Saws and Paranormal Activities of the world recently, but when a film has a decent atmosphere, cool designs, and an ending that doesn't make me want to punch someone, I give it a pass.

I miss Cyrus. It's not the same without him on the reviews.
