Saw this at an advanced screening last year. It was...alright. Unless you feel strongly about the subject, I don't think it'd appeal that much. Co-Host was right when he says the entire movie feels like a lecture. Matt and Frances were great together, though.

This review is full of lolz.

From the trailer it seemed like it'd be a borderline thing... I was hoping for something more like The Adjustment Bureau.  This will probably be something I watch when it comes to the pay channels.

shit, it sounds like this is a movie that carlyle would have loved, and that thought just struck me during the review and for whatever reason I wanted carlyle to pop in on the mic and just say "Yeah but I spoke with the director about this movie and..."

I know I hate to be this guy. I can leave at any time.  Doesn't it seem like Korey makes the MOST obvious jokes.  He always groans when cyrus makes puns but he makes the most predictable jokes

I guess nobody cares that this film was financied in part by a foreign oil company. Does that not make it hypocritical? Or is there a conspiracy among the foreign, middle eastern companies to promote US environmentalism?

    OR DOES NOBODY THINK!!!!!!!!

the film only scored 50% on RottenTomatoes 'The earnest and well-intentioned Promised Land sports a likable cast, but it also suffers from oversimplified characterizations and a frustrating final act.'

I'll watch it later in the year

While it has no bearing on the quality of the film, my favorite science podcast Skeptoid has addressed the dangers of frakking pretty thoroughly. The episode is 13 minutes long and is well sourced.

Specifically what Cyrus mentioned; being able to hold a flame to the kitchen sink and ignite the gas was featured in the 2012 documentary 'Gasland' and has since been found to be caused by a shallow gas deposit that intersected with the water well and was unrelated to frakking.

Sounds like Damon & Affleck have a weighing scale success rate. As one goes up the other goes down. Wonder if they converse about the films they have been lately. AWKWARD!!!
