My Review of Texas Chainsaw 3D

Heh..  There's no 1994 here.  The movie takes place in 2012.  They go to great lengths to cover up all the dates, but you can catch it on one of the tombstones - Heather's grandma died in 2012.

Twisted pictures is planning to make this the next Saw franchise...

Mazzocone used to run production at Twisted Pictures, the company behind the hugely profitable series about a serial killer named Jigsaw. And when he pitched a Leatherface revival to the Chainsaw rights holders in 2009, he brought along DVDs of the first six Saw movies. "I gave them a small speech," the producer says. "Something like 'Fellas, you have a magnificent horror franchise that has been grossly mismanaged over the years. If you give us the right to six [new movies], we'll do for you what we did for Saw.' Fifteen minutes later, we left with a deal."

Uhhh...Have you READ Charlie & the Chocolate Factory? They didn't add that just to make him tragic. They added it because that story has pretty much no plot once Charlie steps foot inside the factory. It's a movie, they can't just have "and Charlie lived happily ever after for the next hour, with no ups or downs." They had to add a twist or something, just like the first movie attempt at making the movie did.

I hate it when movies try to give a mysterious character a backstory. In "Charlie & the Chocolate Factory". I remember (after seeing it for free at my college's theater), these idiot girls in front of me were talking about how "OMG, you know....he's that way because his father didn't teat him right! He never got to be a kid! Awe poor Willie Wonka, and he's so hawt!!" Urgh. I don't want to know his backstory, he's supposed to be mysterious. I agree that sometimes sequels or remakes try to explain when they don't need to.

I will be seeing this sometime this week...me being the one for the nostalgic the director of this seems keen enough to make it the....strict...erudite sequel we never got. But by the sounds of Co-Hosts reactions and ideals i am a bit disheartened!

Poor Co-Host. We feel your pain, your suffering ... and it gives us great entertainment.

Well, that's what a horror movie is supposed to do, isn't it?
This review did what the movie they were reviewing was supposed to do, better than the movie did.

And that is why we love Spill.com.

(If only Spill.com made more than 20 million over a single weekend, huh?)

This is one of Co-Host's most entertaining reviews that he has done. The way he shouted and growled this rating at the very end made me really feel how he felt about the movie!

I'll tell you what Tobe Hooper was thinking when he endorsed this film:

    $$$$$$

This piece of shit had a 8 million dollar budget and a lazily written script, and it made 23 million in just three days.

That's the best thing about all those shitty sequels, remakes and (ugh...) "reimagenings" of old horror franchies. Hearing you guys review it and give it the *Fuck you!" they deserve.

So it sounds like this is a movie that will easily make your worst of 2013 list.  Hey, speaking of worst of lists, when will the Spill Crew's best and worst lists for 2012 be up?  I'm curious to know what would be on them.

Hmmm, I'm still curious to see this movie especially with the Halloween (I loved the original first two Halloween movies and the remake) and Texas Chainsaw remake (I personally liked the remake, didn't care for the origin sequel) comparisons.

"In a surprise upset, Lionsgate's Texas Chainsaw 3D placed No. 1 at the Friday box office with a healthy debut of $10.2 million. The R-rated film is now expected to win the weekend with a gross in the $21 million to $25 million range, marking a victory for Lionsgate."

This is why we DON'T get nice things. There will always be a large enough audience who will pay to go see bullshit, no matter how many bad reviews it gets.

"Dey got Trey Songz up it dat bitch?! Dat shit gots to be good!"

"Hey baby? You wanna go see that new Leatherface show? I know how you like them scary stories!"

"Durrrr. New Chainsaw movie. Durhur! I love new classical horror movies. Derp!"
