^ That is a podcast on FilmSchoolRejects.com where the writer for this movie is interviewed and explains his thought process when writing the script for Identity Thief.
He wanted to tell a story about a man who is unhappy with "who he is". Like he seems to not consider or be aware that he's writing a comedy. And what he says about McCarthy's character is mind-destroying. "Everybody loves Melissa McCarthy, so I just wanted the audience to fall out of love with her just for a moment, then fall back in love with her in at the end" Hollywood, please fire this man.

I was wondering when people would be tired of Melissa McCarthy. I haven't seen her work, but see she has been in a lot of movies lately. I am not critiquing her, I am just surprised people haven't been overwhelmed with her yet.

A low "Fuck You"? What would you conisider a high "Fuck You"?
Are there going to be different grades of "Better Than Sex" as well? "Better Than Sex with two chicks"? "Better Than Sex with an 8 or higher"? "Better Than Sex with Korey"?

@G Brown The crew reviews every film they have the time to review. They're not underestimating their followers...if you noticed they also reviewed Side Effects. You can also check out Remote Viewing where they review as many DVD/Bluray releases that they can every week. It might also help you realize that when they're not watching or review movies in theaters they are still watching and reviewing movies. Also Identity Thief might not have been an intelligent movie, but it was #1 in the box office and if it didn't get reviewed we would be seeing complaints all over the site for why we ignored that movie.

Seriously dudes. Choose some better fucking movies to review. Ur better than that. At least throw in one intelligent movie once in a while. I know you're Americans but I still think you can do it. Frat boy movie after frat boy movie is getting tired. Don't underestimate your followers, they're smarter than that.

I think "good" fat jokes are ones that don't deal with the typical "eat more food" , "fat is ugly" or "you are slow because you are fat", ironically that's all the fat jokes in this movie. My roommate can jump from his bunk about 8ft in the air, so he can get down faster then climbing down the ladder thing. Well, me being a fatty, gravity doesn't exactly allow me to fall gracefully from the skies, it says "Fuck your knees bitch." My jokes are more little comments that happen in daily life rather than full on jokes that most stand-up comedians use. I really think that if you do an "insulting" joke, it has to be a quick one liner rather than some elaborate set-up. Personally, I find it insulting that writers can't find more fat jokes, because seriously, it gets old hearing basically the same ones in and out of movies.

What are some good fat jokes? I haven't seen the movie, but if you capable of laughing at yourself I'd love to hear some good zingers.

The trailer looks terrible. When they think the highlight of the movie is throat-punching, you know they're trying to sell you crap.
Jason Bateman, you are so much better than this. Please don't spread yourself thin with a new crap film every few months like Seth Rogen.

Just watching the trailer makes me want to punch a kitten in the face... and I normely love animals.

So, I got back from this movie and it isn't a "FUCK YOU!" but Some Ol' Bullshit in my opinion. There are so many logic loopholes in the first half of the movie it's beyond dumb. This is one of those movies that your parents will laugh at because of the Guitar / George Foreman grill attack humor and seeing Stonestreet in this made me really sad. It's a forgettable movie, and the worst part are the fat jokes for no reason. It's not like it made a message of "feel good about yourself," they were just there to be "funny." I'm fat and I can make better jokes about myself then the writers of this script.

For me, this was Some Ole Bullshit. I didn't really hate this but I agree this is definitely not original, not very funny, and wit is sacrificed for desperate attempts at humor.
