As soon as I saw the animated dance sequence at the end of one of the trailers for this movie, I said "Man, I would rather watch Garfeild 2 again rather than seeing this peice of shit!" The only talking dog that is worth watching is Scooby-Doo.

I see movies like this as a weed, strangling the loose, fertile soil of the mainstream-movie industry. This may seem a very drastic statement, but i see this as an example of how film could, quite conceivably, become merely another commodity, to be produced for the benefit of the shallow, culturally ostracized masses of the western world. What made me think about this was co-hosts comment about how "they probably just had this script lying around and decided to attach a property to it that had something of a fan base"(cant quote exactly, but that was the jist of it). It shows me that more and more people are being raised to the attitude that film and art in general is just another way to burn two hours of your precious time or a way to provide your child with a sort of pseudo-nanny (that thought coming from the many comments i hear about these dreadful childrens' movies, and the parents who buy them to occupy there child's time and energy). I know, of course, that there will always be those who appreciate fine art and cinema...i just wish that that characteristic could be inherent in all human beings, because i really see our ability to write a poem or pen a captivating story as one of the great treasures of man kind.

Except for a joke in Family Guy I had no clue who Marmaduke was. I believe that Scooby Doo is a more popular Great Dame than Marmaduke.

Saw the dogs F'ing dancing in the trailer and knew this was going to die a quick death... And I blame the Shrek peeps for this, it was awesome to have the Merry Men Dancing in Shrek cause it was part of the plot and story, then they went STOOPID and lets put a F'ing pop song and have characters group dance yaay!! wtf is wrong with these people.. Awesome in Madagascar 1, then just dumb in Madagascar 2... put a song in cause it carries the plot or character, not because we need to put one in.

This is clearly a by-product of Owen Wilson's depression. The man is crying out for help!

Damn. That bad huh. Hope Owen Wilson is recovered from that last suicide attempt cause this might be a tipping point for him. I knew this was gonna be a flop.

@Land Rollins: Talent. Or "talent." Voice talent is the reason it cost that much. District 9 had no stars.
