That inter-Spill face-off seems to have already started ... I don't know. Is Cyrus' voice as the dick prankster (eight minutes into the review) supposed to be a Co-Host impression or not ?

Anybody else notice that the house that the wife was showing is Walt's house from Breaking Bad?

Why am I not surprised that Leon liked this one and will probably hear Korey reference him giving it a matinee oh about a year from now when they have another "you like awful movies no you like awful movies" discussion. that said i wanna watch this, good review

Korey and the Cohost 3000 are going to be bagging on them...well at least bagging on Leon. They never talk about Cyrus...only on LOEG when he wasn't there but hardly. But guys it's nice to see a variety between the spill crew.

I find it amazing how the vast majority of people believe there is life outside our own planet, but when asked about little green men, they think its a fantasy. Same thing with Ghosts! Most people believe in a soul, but they think your crazy, if you saw your grandmother in the windowsill.

I think it's fear. People feel more comfortable believing in these things from a distance, and it terrifies them to think it can come up and grab them!

@Leon I see your point, but I wasn't just limiting my comment to "Paranormal Activity".  How does "Dark Skies" compare to similar films in the paraormal/ghost genre that aren't found footage?  Specifically "Insidious", "Sinister", or "Mama"?

Just curious, not looking for an argument.  :)

No, there was indeed a show called Dark Skies....see?

@Patrick Girts - What you seem to ignoring is that we also said that this movie also has MUCH better writing, acting and production than Paranormal Activity. It's an actual movie and not bargain basement 'found footage'.

The show was called Falling Skies, not Dark Skies

BTW, like you guys were saying it would be interesting to do a movie where you find out that the Aliens do all the things they just to get their kicks. Kind of like a wierd kid who likes torturing animals until he gets board.

Great review. This sounds interesting but it would be interesting if a movie were explore the idea of what do Aliens/or ghosts get out of messing with their victims. I.e. is there some particular reason they have to start off small messing with their victims and then build up to something bigger. If a film like this were to explore that it may have been more interesting. I am with Cyrus, something about the Grey's scare me.

Every time I hear the words "fugue state" I think of Breaking Bad.

Hey guys, I'm not trying to start an argument, I'm just a little befuddled by your review.  It seems like this film hits all the same beats as the paranormal/ghost movies you compare it to, and the only difference is that this film's explanations are rooted in the fact that these are aliens instead of ghosts.

I mean, either way the threat follows the family, and in both instances we only have the word of a self-proclaimed expert to go on.

Again, not trying to start an argument, just would like to pick your brains a little bit more.  Before your review I was prepared to ignore this movie, but you guys have definitely gotten me interested in seeing it. :)

So will CoHost start ripping on Leon this week on Let's Do This for "liking" this movie too?

Good review, guys, but I disagree that a "producer" credit doesn't indicate quality.  If you saw Spielberg's name attached as a producer to something, you would have interest.  That doesn't mean that it's a wholeheartedly sure method of finding quality either, but I disagree with your generalization on the subject.

What if what we call aliens are actually demons? What if they've messed with humanity since the beginning of muthafuckin time and people just call them different things from time to time? I mean seriously, how LONG can aliens be observing us and shit? Shouldn't they have all the info they need by now if they were gonna invade? A lot of the UFO footage, faked or not, has the UFOs turning on a dime and suddenly gone. We never see em enter or leave the planet, they literally just disappear. That's some dimensional shit man. And if they're so goddamn nice and here to help why the fuck do they rape people up the ass on their ships, sticking em with prods?

Aleister Crowley had a sketch of the "demon" he communed with and the mafakka looks exactly like a typical grey alien, and that was in the 1800s!

Food for thought and great review guys!
