It says on Wikipedia that you guys now denounce this review ALA Indiana Jones and Terminator Salvation.

I haven't heard anything like that on the podcasts. But is that true? I think you guys were spot on in this review.

I was pretty disappointed with Iron Man 2. A lot of the jokes didn't work, there wasn't a lot of good action, they tried to introduce way too many conflicts and couldn't focus on one... (*COUGH* Spider man 3 *COUGH*) It had its good moments, but it didn't even come close to the level of the first movie.

They should have kept Nick Fury + reveal the Black Widow after the credits.

Iron Man 2 is an A+ award-worthy, fun, terrrific, action-packed superhero movie sequel.

They introduced war machine too soon. They should have given him an entire movie, where his character should've been developed more. In this movie, he like... put on the suite... and he could perform all the moves and skills needed, it would've been awesome if they at least gave him a training sequence. This movie should've been all about whiplash (underdeveloped) and iron man.

the spill crew gave it a Matinee which by their own rating system (excluding the infamous FUCK YOU rating) this movie basically scores a 3/5 which isn't saying they hated it or that it was mind-blowingly awesome like TDK for example. Just that it was a good movie.

Agree with you guys completely. The middle section lacked something crucial: drama. Still probably a 7...although I will confess if I hadn't liked the first one so much I might have given this a 6.

My opinion: Poorly paced, boring, anticlimactic, badly directed. Highly disappointing.

Just came back from it, and I loved it. I don't know what's up with this critics about the "slow and boring second act" but it worked great, actual character development and the story actually moving forward in interesting ways. I guess everyone was excpecting full TNA. Either way: With an opening weekend of over 100$ million, who cares about the reviews or the "flaws"?

@Nick Fury it was not that he had access to the lab because everyone actually did, what was more telling was the fact that the other suit had an external power source, why would Tony have a spare suit with an external power source when all he required was the one inside his chest, the other suit was clearly made for Rhodes and he had used it before, also telling that he had used it before was the fact that the supercomputer put the suit on him in the first place.

I guess I'm the only one who really liked Tony Stark drunk at his party, not just because it was funny (to me), but it showed some of the consequences of binge drinking and not giving a crap, being perceived and acting like and asshole and losing your friends and dignity. I liked that uncomfortable feeling, cuz to me, it meant that it was hitting a point. And I guess with the overlapping dialogue, I liked that, too, because A) a lot of conversations tend to overlap, and B) Tony constantly talking over people shows (to me) that even though he likes these people, he still considers himself above everyone else and that his points are more important. Sam Rockwell was pretty funny, too, he kinda played it like the guy who tries too hard to be cool and fails miserably, so it worked for me.

im gonna have to agree with you guys. the first act was incredible, with me hanging onto my seat anytime Mickey Rourke was onscreen. and i began to felt discomfort in Tony Stark's condition. the second act came DANGEROUSLY close to turning into Spiderman 3. Tony acting like a drunk bastard in his suit was just painful to watch; meeting Nick Fury in a diner was ridiculous, and the film kept trying to be funny when it actually felt like a parody. the third act, while not as good as the beginning, was really exciting. the only problem was that the fight between Tony. Rhodey, and Mickey Rourke was a little too short. all in all, its not bad, its just flawed. this couldve been a massive step from the first film, but it ended up being a disjointed advertisement for the Avengers film. the beginning and ending prevent it from being a Rental, so id give it a Matinee.

it kicked so much freakin ass!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE CRITICS!? this movie totally outdoes the original I really really loved they made the story and drama more complex and the action was thankfully amped up a whole lot honestly the last 30 min of this movie is one giant bad-ass action sequence we finally understand Tony Stark this time around, he's dealing with the overbearing consequences of being Iron Man and having the world on his shoulders about his technology Mickey Rourke plays Whiplash so perfectly, its funny cause most villains tend to be 2-dimensional and act hammy thankfully Rourke puts in alot of effort and is a very understandable character I felt though Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer could have been better put together, felt like he wasnt in control much there's obviously fun cameo appearances from other Marvel comic book characters portrayed by Samuel Jackson and Scarlett Johansson you know an Avengers movie is on the horizon people complain all that is shoehorned in but to be honest it's only briefly mentioned we also can't forget Don Cheadle replacing Terrence Howard as War Machine: BEST DECISION there was cause he and Robert have terrific chemistry together this is the 1st great film of 2010 and the PERFECT start to the summer blockbuster season go see it!!!

What's with the bleep around 12:50? Haha. I was fairly bored with this film...high rental or low matinee somewhere lol

I am not gonna be a nerd fanbooy, I agree with you guys on this one and say this movie is just a low Matinee, the middle act isn't interesting and the film dosen't work because of that middle act.

i loved this movie from beginning to the end, i find it a little better than the first one, for me this movie is better than sex. A String of Obscenities is right, Rhodes has access to Tony's lab, they show him entering the keypad and walking in when Stark is learning more about Ivan - so yeah.

Saw the film again and I completely disagree with you all it's an amazing film but with some little problems just as good as the first for me don't know why people are hating on this so bad
