I really enjoyed the movie. It was a bit long and there were some slow parts in the middle but I have to disagree about the characters. I found them interesting and I did care about their story and I really loved Jackie in this role. Overall I'd highly recommend it aside from it being a little long. A high mantinee. And I know Jaden isn't as charismatic as the Fresh Prince but honestly how many people actually are.

I liked this movie and I agree with the guys about it being to long. It was 30 minutes to long. On the bright side, it followed the original very close. I reminded me why I loved The Karate Kid. As for the suspending the disbelief, I had to do the same amount in the first film. 2 months and he learned how to block, punch, sweep and the super secret Crane Technique. Moving on. I give it a Matinée.

@ D-BO its not a new mortal kombat film, its a directors calling card pitch to Warner bros, hoping they pick him as a director for the reboot and this is what he would style it like

I don't understand the issue regarding the length of the film. The original was 2hours and 7 minutes.

Yea, I have to disagree with you guy's on this one. There were some flaws in this movie, and I do think they took to a bit to long to really get to the action, but the core of the movie was very solid. I'd give it a solid matinee.

I just saw this movie today and I actually enjoyed. I loved the martial arts scenes, although there were times that I thought it was a bit unrealistic and Jaden's character should of at least bone a bone or something that would of resulted in him in the hospital. One flaw I saw was that I think the beginning was a bit slow and it took to long to get to the action, but maybe that's just me. I was also glad to see Jackie Chan doing something different from the usual goofy character he does.

the jae character did have a background in gymnastics and judo etc. so i was able to have a suspension of disbelief in that he was able to pick it up much easier then some random joe from america. come on. tho i will agree with you, jae should have been ten times past dead.

@Solanka Because you like awesome fight scenes, good cinematography, like good acting, and overall just enjoy competently made films. Also if you are okay with remakes of movies that are over a quarter of a century old. It was an enjoyable film though it needed to be edited for time. I say it was a matinee
