this movie shouldn't exist! fuck it, fuck it, fuck it!! they mispronounce soooo many things, everything w/ the firelord never fucking happened in the 1st season, they screwed up the firebenders abilities, they don't need fire like waterbenders need water, they can make it! hell if u had filmed my reaction to this film, which was just yelling @ my t.v., that wood have been more entertaining than this shit. and why is gyatso black? i'm not racist but come on, seriously? and zuko's "scar" was horrible, it didn't even look like anything was there!! i've been a fan of this series since it came out when i was about 11 or 12 and if m. night even thinks about touching legend of korra i will rally a mob and hunt his ass down!

Man, oh man! I am a huge Avatar fan and this is the biggest blasphemy in history.

I watched the whole movie and I still can't tell anybody what it's about. The plot mooved so fast that we aren't even introduced to Aang enough to understand why Sokka & Katara wanna go safe him.

About 7-8 epidodes of the series is cooked down to 1 minute of Voiceover.... This is a movie. Why not use the media to show us what the hell you are talking about. That's just lazy!

The casting of this movie has to be the laziest ever. It's like they're thinking 'Let's just mix "actors" with "actors" who havn't done shit. Noah Ringer who "play" Aang had apeared in... NOTHING before this movie. How can you depend on a kid to do the lead part who havn't had any acting experience. No acting school just a fucking black belt in Taekwondo.

Like the guys say Uncle Iroh (even though they prenouns his name wrong) has to be the comic relief in the movie, but he's fucking boooooring. And there is no humour as in the series!

And let's get a black gut to play Munk Giatsu. Enough said...! FUCK THIS MOVIE!

I'm not all surprised that the movie wasn't that good to me- maybe- MAYBE the only thing I liked was the scenery and locations where they decided to shoot all the countries. But uh- I'm just disappointed is all. They're prolly gonna have another director take over the rest of the project like the Harry Potter series and all that jazz.

What is worse about this is that now no one can make  the good adaptation of the series that the fans were actually wasiting  for since M. Knight fucked it up so badly. Way to go, you pretentious hack... As soon as I heard that M. Knight was making this six months before it came out, I already KNEW it was gonna be bullshit. Barely anyone believed me and when it did turn out to be absolute crap, all I could say, "I told you so."

F**K THIS MOVIE!!!!!! Racist, depressing, dull, boring, lazy, and just horrible. The set pieces and a couple of effects are all right, but the bad action, acting, writing, directing, lack of character, and the fact that it f**ked with the show ruins it. I love the show, and this just sucked. This is M. Night Shamalyan taking a dump on the screen for an hour and 43 minutes.

Nobody, why am i full o shit? i was an extra for the movie. and the main reason i was an extra was because i was a fan of the show. as soon as i learned about the extra casting call i dropped all my plans on that day to go to philly and sign myself up. the experience of being in a movie was a good part of it, but it really was the main reason i signed up. why is my reason shit?

In my movie critical opinon the key to the failure of Avatar The Last Airbender (2010) is M. Night Shyamalan's dishonesty with the animated television show, strange and paranoid unability to change his style and art form of storytelling and very poor effort with his flawed movie screenplay and his movie directing and that sadly makes everything else in Avatar The Last Airbender (2010) terrible. Overall Avatar The Last Airbender (2010) is a very disappointing and dishonest movie apaptation with very poor effort by M. Night Shyamalan in terms of his strange and paranoid unability to change his style and art form of storytelling, flawed movie screenplay writing and movie directing.

I am a HUGE Avatar fan. Everything about the show was perfect for me. I actually was an extra for the movie just because it was a movie about my favorite animated tv show of all time. I was a Fire nation soldier, and from what I saw personally, the movie looked like it was gonna be pretty good. the sets were breath taking i even hung out on the set of the Northern Water Tribe and i felt like i was there. But when i saw the midnight showing in 3-d,...left me speechless. all the things that we saw while filming that made the scenes were taking out and what we were given just sucked me out of the movie. the movie was just so bad, i cried and went home and watched the entire 1st season (let me remind you i went to the midnight show of this) just to make me feel better. did it ruin the time i had filming the movie? no way! i had fun filming and apparently the extras (who most of them were Avatar fans as well) did what we could to make this movie awesome. thanks M Night for fucking it all up. Rating: Some Ol' Bullshit!

Racist insult aside, this was probably the worst piece of sh*t I have ever seen. Even after 750mL of wine this just couldn't pass as anything other than BULLSH*T!

Goddamnit! I have defended M. Night Shymalan, saying hes a talented director who may not be as great a writer as HE thinks he is. And what does he do? He takes a property that I adore, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and makes it one of the absolute worst adaptations I've seen since Dune. M. Night, I'm done defending you. I'm going to watch the cartoon's DVDs for my Avatar fix. Rating: SOME OL' BULLSHIT!!!

Okay, M. Night has done it again, completely ruined a movie with a damn good title! My issue is that he hired all of his relatives and home boys that actually did not act worth a crap. Man, was I freakin disappointed. 3-D? Where that hell did that come in I'd like to know. I only hope that he will "confer" to the professionals (steven spielberg for one) before he makes the sequel cause only the people in India will enjoy this one....

im so fucking sick of hearing about the casting controversies for this movie, i dont give a fuck what race the actors are, i only care if the actor is good for the part ,i dont give fuck what race the actors are, the actors shamalan picked could have done a way better job but that diddnt happen thanks to shamalans crappy script. but at this point im beyond giving a fuck about who was and wasnt cast in the film.

I feel like if they pulled it off it could've done a LOT; it wouldn't have only been a money-maker, but an amazing breakthrough if they could've just translated the TV show straight into movie form. But no they fucked up the martial arts, the story, and even the actors; particularly fucking up the ONLY opportunity for asian-american actors in Hollywood to get out there. I mean fuck, this movie was BASED on Asian culture and mythology, yet they whitewash all the main characters and put all the asians in the background? I mean, the casting was horrible. I really think Shyamalan was just making excuses for conforming to Hollywood's tradition of whitewashing main characters (ever seen 21? Yeah, those MIT students were supposed to be Asian if you didn't know) Despite tradition, Paramount was willing to cast Asian leads and even went to Dante Basco, an Asian-American actor and most notably VOICE ACTOR for the character of Zuko. I'm sure lots of people have seen Hook and remember everyone shouting RUFIO RUFIO RU-FI-OHHHHH! Wasn't Rufio a badass?! Well it's been some twenty years and Rufio hasn't aged AT ALL making Dante Basco the perfect Zuko, yet Shayalamadingdong said, "Hell no, this Asian dude doesn't fit in with my vision; I'mma go with Jessie McCartney. Oh, Jessie McCartney dropped? Well I'mma go with my fellow countryman Dev Patel. Yeah, how's that for diversity?!" Putting all that aside, I'm just gonna wait another few years. That new Avatar sequel Bryan and Michael have been working on (they're announcing it during ComicCon) is probably going to be a hit and might just get a movie. If then I hope they make the right choice in directors....

I understand what he was trying to do, and upon saying that, I have to say, he failed without a doubt. I could not get into the movie, I thank god, I didn't spend my hard earned money. To me, it seemed, he sold out; to the producers, and the studio. If the cartoon creators, were pleaed with this movie, then it would seem, they sold out also, and were in it for nothing but the money. To that I say, shame on M and the cartoon creators

Heh heh...heh heh heh.... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!!! Gods, karma is a BITCH isn't it boys and girls! After all the debate, after the point/counterpoint, after all the bitching and moaning...this movie turned out to be the titanic piece of crap it was predicted to be. To those 'concerned' about the hate this film is getting, shut up. Now. Harsh, huh? Well too bad. We as the American movie going public are getting REAL sick and tired of medicure crap constantly being producted by Hollywood. We are tired of having our favorite books/shows/stories being raped and destroyed before our eyes...right after they take our 10-15$ We are tired of films being blatently offensive and even racist in this day and age. We are tired...and oh so very angry. The Last Airbender did take the original story...and then cored out the heart of it, casted everyone as far from the originals as they could, bought a script written by a drunk accountant and served it up to the fan soaked in the dripping of used douches. Fuck You, Movie.

You pretty much called it: This was a cash grab that they didn't give half a crap about. They jumped at the chance to make a movie about it as soon as it was over, figured the work was already done for them, and didn't really give two shits about the quality because they must have figured they could proverbially take the money and run before all the fans of the TV show had figured out they'd been ripped off. And what does M. Night care -- his career is over already anyway.
