Thought this was an okay film until the end action set piece that got dumber as it went along and the 3-D was TERRIBLE!

Just rented this film.  I think this is a big misfire by the studio and Rogen.  I am a big fan of his. I even enjoy films like Funny People and Observe and Report (neither of which got any mainstream love), but this film just does not work.  Rogen played the role as a major d-bag and his character is pretty useless.  He can’t fight, fire a gun and he’s just unlikable.  The script makes no sense and goes all over the place and the supporting cast is just wasted.  Waltz is underused and other than looking good, Diaz’ character could have been played by any other on the come up actress instead of a million dollar star.  The only saving grace is Chou as Kato, and they almost ruin that by having him be a genius who can put a mind controlled nuclear bomb in a car, but can’t swim.

In the end, Rogen was miscast and the film is wasted opportunity.

Nevermind, you guys said the cameo part anyways..i didnt wana listen to the review until after seeing the movie 1st (which was yesterday afternoon)...but it didnt really spoil much. but since i didnt know beforehand...i saw Franco and was like "wtf! not surprised but cool". He did a perfect job as a goofy "wanna-be-cool" mob guy lol...then getting scared shitless by Waltz. Probably my favorite moment.

Also KATO was simply awesome. I would have been happy enough just seeing a movie called "KATO" and would have loved it whether it was serious or comedy, woulda been sick.

Was good, fun but not perfect. DEFINITELY a Matinee...Nothing more..nothing less.

I did like a particular cameo at the beginning which I don't want to spoil, but it worked VERY well w/ upsetting Christoph Waltz lol.

Had some damn good action, pretty good directing, and good acting for this type of movie...but I figured after a while Seth Rogen would stop being an asshole..but nope..he only had some tiny revelation near the end which didn't even change his attitude lol.

lets just say hes more like "OH SHIT a bunch of people basically died because of me? oops" and carries on lol.

Still a really fun movie though. The best 3D effects were in the credits lol!! obviously due to converting it and probably saying "damn we gotta make SOMETHING 3D".

Then again...for a converted movie, it wasnt bad.

this was some ole bullshit to me. Seth Rogen's character was so annoying and unlikeable. Even the action scenes seemed like shitty video game shots. Yeah i know this is just supposed to be a fun super hero movie but coming out i was just annoyed and a little angry

    @lukeamongclouds

You seem to think most jokes everywhere "miss their targets"

Whoa, really Korey, what's with the attitude. I do care what's going on, and what you're up to, that's why I frequent the site. I'm just saying as far as recent reviews go, it seems that you've only seen a fraction of the movies you're "reviewing", and it's a little frustrating. Sure, I like your thoughts. Sure, you've got good input. But, and this is my opinion, your input weighs little to nothing if you haven't actually seen the film. Is that not a valid statement? Anyway, I love the site, and the reviews are great...when everyone is actually reviewing the film. DON'T HATE ME, but it feels a little like cheating to get paid to "review" a movie you haven't seen yet. That is all. Kato for the win.

Just saw the Green Hornet, loved it and to those bitching about the movie simply put take the stick (or head) out you asses and enjoy it. :D the franchise has been dead for nearly 40 years (and it was a shit show at best!) For the most part Rogen and Gondry did a fine job breathing life back into it and uuh guys Rogen LOST weight I think age may have affected your sights (joking of course). Flawed but I had still had fun FULL PRICE!

Saw this tonight! I waited to listen to the review 'till after I saw the movie... I wanted to see what I thought of the movie fist. I have been writing these mini movie reviews on the Flixster Facebook app pretty much every day and this is what I wrote about 'Hornet:'

Many of the jokes miss their targets, and Seth Rogen is basically playing Seth Rogen. However, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't entertained throughout the movie. The action is creative and engaging, and there are laughs here and there. That being said, an abundance of issues hold the film back. Cameron Diaz’s 'character' is essentially pointless (we need a female lead/love interest!) Additionally, the talents of the amazing Christoph Waltz (the Jew Hunter from Inglourious Basterds) are mostly squandered as he’s given little to work with. While some of the camaraderie between Britt and Kato was funny, Green Hornet’s story clings to the tired cliches of a buddy comedy far too often. The most baffling thing about the film is why the very indie Michel Gondry chose to direct it in the first place. Aside from a neat stylistic ‘revelation’ sequence towards the end and the soundtrack choices, the film lacks anything resembling the director’s signature touches. Long story short, it’s not a great film, but it’s got some clever bits and will no doubt entertain. Just don't expect a classic superhero film.

We're pretty much on the same page! And I wrote this before I listened to you dudes! Isn't that NUTS

Just got back from the movie and to me this a low full price. The comedy really helped in this film, because if it was played straight, it would have failed. I just really dug the friendship of these two guys. They are both dumbasses but in a charming way. I have to disagree with the spill crew on the end bit with Seth Rogen, he does not become a badass in the just competent. In any case it was a good movie worth seeing.

I'm mad at all the people talking shit about this movie. There are alot of movies that are worse so go stir shit up on them. If you don't like it then just don't say anything. As a Seth Rogen fanatic, I enjoyed the hell out of this movie. It is alot better then most superhero movies. It tries to be different and goes on a more comedic angle. Jay Chou was awesome for a guy who did not even speak english until just recently. I say congradulations Seth Rogen, you have proven all the nay sayers wrong by making a kickass superhero flick.

To all those who still wanna call this movie crap....Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

EVEN FOR ME. keep the reviews coming whether you're in new york atx or fucking paris. obviously the other guys watched it and gave good feedback.

Do people get this pissed what I say something they don't like, I don't have any personal problems with anyone on the site nor have I ever attacked someone openly much less some one like Korey. I personally enjoy hearing what Korey has to say and if they can convince him or get him to want to see a movie chances I would want to see it too with the exception of Black Swan or the next Judd Apatow movie.

If I wanted you to speak I would take my dick out of your mouth, take the hint at shut up.

I am gonna watch and probably like it more than any one simply because I am going into this thinking

its a B Super Hero Seth Rogen movie with a big budget good action scenes and from what I here decent 3D

And I am probably going to see this a little drunk. Dolphin Mall has a few places where I can do that and have only to take the escalator to the second floor to watch the movie. Only thing that would make my night easier is if I could buy the tickets at the bar.
