This was the most fun I had at the movies this year(note: I do not think it's the best film). It was better and scarier and much more effective than the first(which I thought was great). It brilliantly added to the mythology before I even thought this series could even HAVE a mythology. I was hoping for a more positive response from you guys considering I have quite a few friends who really dig this movie who didn't like the first. Oh well...to each his own.

@Robert Michael I have to go watch this movie again with that mindset just to see how it lines up.

i just totally hated this movie.. i could write a thousand words on how much I hate it, but it would take more time to write it than it took for this movie to be made. I'd probably put more thought into it than they did too.

I'm listening to this review and I'm thinking -- an annoying dad who thinks everything is a joke, the baby and the dog steal the show ... This isn't a horror film. This is an episode of Family Guy.

At first I thought it was a sequel, then Katie showed up and I thought it was the demon pretending to be her to get close to the baby (I knew it wanted Hunter for some reason before going in) and then Micah showed up so I was expecting the leap forward. I liked this but I agree that this demon was just lazy (the demon had a golden oppurtunity to take the baby when the daughter got locked outside - or why not just posess Ali when the parents were out?) and these movies have a running theme of the people who know what the hell to do with this demon (I think the fast forward shows it's the same one) either getting kicked out or get the hell out. My problem with the first one was that we knew that recording the demon made things worse (yet Micah kept on doing it) and because it was stationary we missed what happened in the climax. The security cameras fixed this problem and for me made it a whole lot more enjoyable. And I thought Kristi posessed was a whole lot more menacing than Katie. This movie made me interested in a third PA but chances are good it would be a documentary and what are we betting Ali will start demon hunting with the dog?

I really didn't like this at all, especially the whole, it wants the first born son.....so the demon's Rumpelstiltskin ??

Since I hate the majority of horror flicks made in the U.S., I liked this flick alot. Not as much as the first, but still, compared to the csapfest of horror that dominated the silver screen for the past several decades.

Y'all should make a little spill cartoon parody of this movie: y'all sitting reviewing this movie, then a chair movies, and a hispanic maid warns y'all. Funny review and might netflix one day but otherwise not worth it. Thanks for posting!

I kept thinking it'd have been so much more effective if maybe the first or second night shot had ended with a drunk driver suddenly crashing right through into the living room. That's the only way they could up their game -- by doing something that clearly wasn't the demon's doing, but was so absolutely-out-the-fuck-of-nowhere that nobody would relax during those scenes again. The only way they could make a PA3 that is even borderline redeemable would be if they did something like that. Why don't all horror movies do that anyway? We all KNOW the "screams" get bigger and bigger as the movie goes so there's no suspense anymore. Get em' early when they're not suspecting it!

I really enjoyed both these movies but i can see why some people wouldnt like them. I would be very interested to see what kind of scary movies people actually enjoy. Personally i didnt find this as over the top scary as most mainstream audiences but i can see why they would feel that. For me i cant think of any horror recently that i have found more scary than this. So i am confused why people here seem really against it. I mean do you guys prefer movies like Mirrors or all the horrible remakes of those japanese movies. This movie does the best job of any western horror in keeping the monster hidden and letting audiences do the rest with their minds. I am sure people here would agree that once the monster in any horror movie is unveiled it suddenly becomes a lot less scary. Dont look at it like a typical found footage movie. It is as much a directed horror movie as any other horror out there. Only it uses each scene a lot better than any other horror out there. And anyone who disagress i would love to hear some suggestions of better horror films because i would love to watch something that is better and scarier than this

Me and my buds just sat around Friday night, instead of goin to see a movie, since this was the only new thing in theaters. I believe it was the fact that I would have rather consumed a bowl of my own balls than watch this flick.

Forgot to mention that the part of the baby on the street didn't happen when I saw it. It might be a deleted scene.

Saw this yesterday with my classmates in the University, and I had one hell of a great time watching it XD A few of my classmates didn't even watch the first movie but I did with my High School classmates in class X3 It was fun.

The way you described this movie, it's the kind I used to love to go see with my boyfriend, when I was 14 or 15. We saw so many crappy horror flicks together, sitting in the dark theater... Oooo holding on his arm so tight, and screaming with the audience.. Loved every minute, I'm sure he knew he was protecting me, as I practically ripped his arm from its socket.

I"m gonna sound in the wrong here I think but I have to admit some things. I have yet to "hear" this review and I blame the comments. I say this because as I read comments, its as though people expect an oscar movie with every movie that comes out and immediately jump on the band wagon with the masses. I personally enjoyed the first. When I saw it at the theater I was like .."eeh, was fun.". But, it hit once I got home and went to lay in my bed. As the DVD came out, I got it , watched it again and just enjoyed the hell out of it. (Still curious why I liked it more the second time, I guess a small "home" setting was key.). But going back, I wont listen to the review ( I still love you Spill :).)..Let's just enjoy the movie for what it is , an escape from everyday life. Don't judge too much, it only ruins the fun. So those of us who enjoyed (dare say loved) the first and now enjoy the second join me in curling the covers up to our necks a little tighter tonight *smile*.
