Rental. This movie is definitely worth seeing, but only at a friend's house, renting it, or when it's on TV. I almost cried with the little boy when Mat Damon did the reading for him, Mat Damon's story was always moving, but that French woman's story NEVER WENT ANYWHERE! It was interesting at the beginning, and her story did get interesting at one point, but when it does, you just don't care about her anymore. The movie was slow at times. After seeing the horrible Gran Torino, I had low expectations for this movie. I got what I wanted. Barely.

LUCKILY this review didnt stop me from seeing the movie. I can agree on Korey's "Low Matinee", its exactly what it was...then again i used a free pass on it lol. It WAS long, drawn out at parts...and as much as the score did fit it well (at times), sometimes it felt like i couldnt even feel much emotion from it, because the soundtrack, like altered my feelings lol. it was weird. Honestly, as much as i love Eastwood flicks, Matt Damon kept it together (maybe even the twins more than him). Some scenes were terrific, the shots of the locations (San Francisco, London, Paris) all looked fantastic...but overall, its a movie worth seeing (did look great on big screen), but only to be viewed ONCE. I'll give it a Matinee as well. (if it was out of 10, maybe 6.5 / 10).

Once that horrendously-rendered tsunami wave graced the screen I decided I would not be seeing this film. Aside from the concept behind the movie seeming tired...

I really hoped this movie was good, but oh well. I'll check it out anyway.

This review is hilarious, I really hope that it ends up being animated.

DUDE, cannot wait to see y'all animate that ending bit. I would give it a 10! =D Thanks for the review and too bad this is not as good as Gran Turino despite having Matt Daaaaaamon. Thanks for posting!

I think Clint just needs to take a break. Go on holiday for a few years before making another film. Sure, he may die by then, but if he's still up and kicking and chooses to make another film perhaps it will be a little better than his last two efforts (Changeling and Invictus)

this movie was the most boring thing I have seen all year. Great review, I was laughing my ass off while you guys were talking about the tsunami scene. Keep it up!

Thanks for the review! The trailer for this has been playing like crazy in front of every movie. Looked ok. Based on your reviews I will probably end up waiting for a rental. Unless I can catch it on a 5 dollar day.

I find it funny that Cyrus says that he is an atheist yet, he was "praying" for ghosts to crack jokes.

Bummer, the trailer looked so promising, maybe this movie should be given to a really good cutter, I wonder if that old lady that cut "Jaws" is still around. She really made that movie, by arguing to keep that fake shark to the minimum, and till the end. Not that there's any fake sharks in this, but there's must be enough excellent footage to make a very good film.

I don't know what it is about Clint Eastwood's movies (the ones he's directed), but I never seem to want to watch them. He's a great filmmaker, and there's nothing wrong with his movies, but after I see them once, I don't know, I just never want to watch them again. They don't have great replay value for me. Except for Unforgiven.
