I've seen a few of Tyler Perry's Movies,as a matter of fact I still remember hearing on the radio about the new Tyler Perry Play opening at the Paramount theatre in Oakland Ca. Like I said I seen a couple of his movies and I dug them But in my opinion Tyler Perry's Movies are the type that you don't want to over think,If you over think it you could turn any form of art into shit, cause there is no such thing as perfect. It is what it is, It's not the best and it's not the worst it just Basks in it's own Mediocrity. You know when you go to see it  there's going to be a ton of the Lord and a ton of foolishness but when I think of all the Comeplete Bullshit that is passing as art and entertainment these days Tyler Perry's movies ain't half bad.As long as they do what they are suppoesed to do.His Movies aren't there to change your Life or to Make you see the light, they are there to entertain you,Make you laugh .Come to think of it Tyler Perr's movies are like Pizza and BBQ, even when it's bad,it's still kinda good....

I don't want to see this movie, tbh.....but I probably end up seeing it. I just don't feel that Tyler Perry cares, or have any respect towards his audience that much. He makes two films a year, so he half-asses with his quality on the movies (makeup, esp. Joe), he still uses too much play aspects (having all of the characters crowded up in an area like a play), and he feels like he can put on whatever shoots into his head and it makes money, b/c people are gonna see it regardless. And if it ain't broke, don't fix it. It's just as much as the viewers fault as it is his that he can make all of these movies with the same concepts over and over again.

If you've seen Colored girls, you can tell which parts were his and which are not, as you can tell with his over-the-top, unrealistic male villians. It's like they're almost too evil.....

Also, I don't get the people who won't watch this movie because of the Jesus aspect, or Bible Thumping or whatever. I've seen secular movies that have much more aspects of God in it than this. If that's the reason you don't want to see the movie, you obviously never seen a Madea movie, let alone a Tyler Perry movie before.

And yeah, I'm Spike Lee on this....

I'm just fucking with you.... Calling some ol bullshit on the "watching the film in dark" explanation but I'm really F'ing with ya, "funning" around... The snow joke was cute too.. But while I'm still on my angry Negro rant the picture of Madea (with her/his eyes bugged the Fuck out) for this movie review looks like a clip from Public Enemy's Burn Hollywood Burn video....

I just saw this movie this weekend. It was the first Madea movie that I saw all the way through and I absolutely loved it ^-^ I did get tired of all the Jesus stuff after a while (just my personal taste) and there were some things I felt didn't need to be in the movie, but I did really enjoy it!

Don't apologize for saying Tyler is a terrible director... Marketing genius, yes (so is the tobacco industry)...... Cultural icon, hell the fuck no..... Modern day minstrel show step in fetch, yes....... I'm sorry for the rant but I feel the way blacks are portrayed and are plastered on the big screen like this always makes me cringe.... The "positive" that people want to give to Tyler is that he employs black actors that may not get the same opportunities as their white counterparts and also that he addresses issues that affect the black community but with that being said I only have one thing to say, "I'd rather work @ the post office" wink.... Oh and fuck anybody who has a problem with Spike (Morehouse 97).....

Then what is it? My mama dragged me to one of hos plays back in 2004, trust me that's exactly what it is.

watch and understand it before you watch it, its not 90's humour or a bible thumping, just pay a LITTLE attention and you would see that poeple

Exactly! I know he is a flaming fag because he sure know what a woman needs and wants and give out advice but the dude never been married, his male characters in the films just will not do what normal men do. I do not like his films and when you watch the plays, you wouldn't even know it's a christian play until they start singing. He's a jackass.

I forgot the parts in the play where he stops the play to gloat "a man will do anything even get up on stage and dress up like a woman!" (self-aggrandize much?) or when he lists the books of the Bible (IN ORDER!) to show off his Biblical knowledge.

    This shit is just awful.

I live in Australia, so yeah I am very unfamiliar with Tyler Perry. I'm not religious, so I probably wouldn't like the movie much.

The same black comedy from the 90's, he say lines from other movies and people find that funny...which I don't understand.

  • April 24, 2011 at 2:56 AM, said ...

nah man, you shouldnt hate on this playright, not many directors can make a movie and solid and fast paced... unless you watch a play of his, the christian shit is subtle.

This movie sounds like it would be ok to watch if you have never seen a Madea movie
