@Tom, I don't know how Captain America will turn out, maybe good or maybe bad. But the difference between Captain America and Green Lantern is that "most" of the effects I've seen so far in Cap look practical. Everything from the suit to the sets look real including the time in which its set in. While with Green Lantern, because of how everything seems to be drizzled in CGi, this could very much lead to conflicting views between people who think it looks okay, and people who thinks it looks terrible.

What did you guys expect any movie that has an embargo until a day or two before the release date means it SUCKS.... Otherwise WB would be advertising all the critical acclaim. Just be happy we have had 2 really good superhero movies this year and another one that could be good as well.

With a 24% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and critics taking a huge steamy dump on this film: I cannot wait to hear the reactions from these guys once they subject themselves to this.

I haven't seen the movie yet obviously. But from what I am hearing: it's gearing to be this year's 'Last Airbender': that is so far.

Korey, you would be the Donkey of the Green Lanturn Corp. If we were in danger, you would be in my house and say "I'm not going out there and in the mornin I'm making woffles!"

Yeah, Tom, except for all three of those movies kick ass. And Jumanji is a pretty darkly lined movie if you get over the initial sillyness of it. Directors do, and have, change genres and audiences . Watch Peter Jackson's magnificent epic, Braindead, or Dead Alive over here.

I'm starting to think CA will suck too.  Same director as 'Honey I Shrunk the Kids', 'The Rocketeer' and 'Jumanji'.  Get ready for a kids movie.

I believe some people on this site were a little worried when Warner Bros. purchased Rotten Tomatoes.  But it seems there has been no attempt to bury the bad reviews GL seems to be getting.

Istead of making waffles with the ring, MAKE LDT instead.

    20% OUT OF 100%

    http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/green_lantern/

Noisy, overproduced, and thinly written, Green Lantern squanders an impressive budget and decades of comics mythology.

Even in the brainless world of cinematic comic books gone bad, it's as bad as it gets -- a dumb, pointless, ugly, moronic and incomprehensible jumble of botched effects, technical blunders, and cluttered chaos.
    Rex Reed
    New York Observer

A joyless amalgamation of expository dialogue and special effects that aren't especially special.

It's a frustrating, deeply flawed film rife with missed story opportunities and squandered potential.

The only reason i hope this fails is so that Ryan press to get Deadpool made.

I saw this it was shit and it is the worst superhero movie of the year by far I would give this low rental for the effects but this movie just sucked SOME OL' BULL SHIT!

The movie had more action than Thor and surprisingly those fight scenes were pretty damn cool. The CGI was great and looked exactly like the comics. Ryan Reynolds actually pulls of Hal Jordan and I read every Geoff Johns GL comic out there so far. Hector Hasimond, Sinestro and of course Parralax brought fear as an element into the film. They changed a lot of things from the comics and remixed it a little to make it a bit grounded for film but not too much to ruin the story. The cons on the other hand was like some editing in the film felt weird and like 2 lines from the film felt weird. There is some easter eggs in the film especially the jet fighting scene. The critics out there giving it low scores are idiots, they keep on complaining on Ryan and forget that it had pros. PS: STAY AFTER CREDITS FOR A EXTRA SCENE.

    the reviews are out.

according to ign, this film is worse than x-men 3 and the wolverine-movie

    I really liked this.

During the lead-up to blockbuster movie, you guys inevitably will go over your expectations on it here or there, but it's good to have a feature like this where we can go back for direct comparison.

I hope to see more of these.

Fuck Hector Hammond and Parallax.  It's the CRITICS who are bitch-slapping the shit out of Green Lantern.

It's always good to hear from The Spill Crew, but why riff about a movie you haven't seen yet and all the earlier indicators are it sucks dead dinosaur dicks?   Enjoyed the quick laughs, but this seemed kind of pointless, guys.

Man Green Lantern is getting the shit kicked out of it! Yo Korey, if you've already done the review, POST DAT SHIT! FUCK THA EMBARGOES!

On another note, I think they may have fucked up with Ryan Reynolds. Though he's often described as one of the few high points in the film, Hal Jordan is the total alpha male of the DC universe, one of the few guys who sees through Batman's brooding/mysterious bullshit and calls him out on it. RR isn't an alpha male, he has this whole frat boy persona that seems to have carried into this movie, if he's too self-aware and not taking shit seriously (with his 'I KNOW RIGHT!' and 'LOL I GOT THIS FROM A FUCKIN PURPLE ALIEN') then the audience won't either.

I really like RR, but he should have been Guy Gardner or Kyle Rayner if he really wanted to be a Green Lantern.

I really hope it's better than IGN made it out to be. I've never seen them tear a movie apart like that before. I mean, it's one thing to say it's a less than stellar movie; it's another entirely to say X3 AND Wolverine were better films.

As always, I'll wait for the spill review before I decide whether or not to go see this, but things aren't looking so good..

    Sorry guys.

Green lantern is 20% on rottentomtoes and IGN gave it 2 stars saying it was a "colossal disappointment"

Guess the one bad egg out of the superhero movies is Green Lantern.

Come on, Xmen First Class was good with critics but still hasn't made it's money yet

Hangover part 2 had poor reviews and it still made money

Fantastic 4 1 and 2 had terrible reviews and still made money...there's still hope the second one can kick ass!!!
