    You know it truely is suck-a-dick-tastic when your director turns the antagonist in your movie into a douchbag who presents no challenge to the hero!

    It's also king of obvious Bay wanted to do the Tim Burton Batman thing or the Sam Raimi Spider-Man thing where he introduces one or two new villains per film only to kill them off in the film itself. He introduced Megs in part 1 and killed him off, Fallen in part 2 and Sentinel in part 3, the only problem is that he didn't know what to do with Megs once he'd brought him back for part 2!

    @Papa G
    Totally agree with you!

    @Don Panini

    That's a very good question sir and here's my answer; I've done a course in cinematography where I've learned a lot about the mechanics of camera operation, one of the subjects touched upon briefly was stereoscopic cameras used to shoot objects in three dimensions. As is my understanding Cameron's 3D camera system has been used on several films, but the same crew who shot Avatar have not shot another film with the same rig since and the cameras have been used inside a fake studio but so far not on location in a real American city. Transformers: Dark of the Moon dun dun dun was the opportunity to see what this camera could do in the real world.

    For the record the camera works fine on live action the problem is that the CG didn't meld with it and stood out even more! this was no Avatar!

    Just have to point out one thing about the audio review as it is buggin the hell out of me. Sophia whatsherface is English not Australian and the "Irish" robot was actually quite a terrible Scottish robot! Apart from that, i agree this movie sucked, but the last 45 minutes was great. Also, am i the only one who thought Megatron got such a bad deal in this movie. He spent the entire movie "looking like a homoless person" and when he does do something, he saved optimus primes life only to have optimus kill him 2 seconds later, and he properly ripped him apart! Well done Michael Bay, you made optimus prime look like a dick!

    Bay won't be attached if what he's said more recently is true (I'd never put much stock in his word though). He and LaBeouf have said that they have no interest in making another movie, and I understand that. Making the same movie 3x can burn you out...

    As for the audience, I too have a saying: If you wanna sit in a darkened room and turn your brain off for 2 hours, try heroin. At least it would make you more interesting...

    I agree, I did pay to see this movie so I can complain! :)

    everyone seems to have an argument about how bad this movie is, or is it that your expectations were set a little to high. It's like the old addage, "You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time". I for one wnet to see this to pass some time like i do with any movie. I either love it, enjoy it, like it or bored with it. in this instance i found i like it. As with any sequel or prequel i don't believe they can always better the original so my expectations are to just see how it goes. For example to this i recently went to see the horror flick "Stake Land", it looked good and the previews seemed pretty good but unfortunately it was quite boring. I enjoyed it in certain parts, and as a horror it brought someting new to the table but there were too many boring lulls, however i was not dissappointed as i had not set my expectations too high. With TF3 people are going to complain  and whine that it ws bunk and did not measure up to 'their' standards and there will be those who really enjoyed it as they can see it as it was meant to be which is an enjoyable sci-fi rumble of good vs evil. The only problem i had with the movie was it's lenght, other than that, it was a enjoyable movie with a few (lazy) flaws in it.

    We're stuck at 94, so I'll go ahead and state my final opinion on the franchise.

    Everyone who even mildly enjoys these movies should be ushered into gas chambers, whereupon they shall be summarily executed to prevent them from sullying the human race.

    @Fungusmonkey

    I think the easiest way to answer what makes a good movie in regard to this particular one is one simple question:

    Did this really need to be 2 1/2 hours long?

    The answer is pretty obviously "Fuck no!!!" and that says everything you need to know. In this film's running time, opportunity to establish and develop characters are completely wasted while countless attempts at cheap jokes that add nothing to the story that this movie is attempting to tell take up most of the viewing experience. The title is made into a lie because so little time is used to set-up the finale while SOOO much is spent on meaningless scenes with Sam, his parents, his job search, his job, etc.. This has been a problem with these movies from the start. In every Transformers movie, the main plot is about the robots but we have to watch them take a backseat to human characters and their shallow narratives again and again. By the time the real story begins to unfold, there's no time left to build any momentum, suspense, or any sense of genuine urgency. There's no reason to care. Things are happening, none of it makes sense, and the only aspect the movie has to fall back on is its impressive FX budget. You're applauding a software upgrade...

    I come from a theatre background, and I've done a couple of Shakespeare productions in the past year. What that taught me firsthand is that audiences can be easily manipulated with a last-minute pay-off. And that's how these movies gain defenders. Not because people genuinely see a connection between the first half of these movies and the climax because there is none. They may like a spot here and there early on, but liking the last half is what really wins them over. But even then, that only makes it half of a movie. Tyrese Gibson has been in all 3 films, and I defy anyone that has seen these movies regardless of how much you enjoyed them to tell me ANYTHING about his character (meaning things like name and occupation don't count) outside of "he's black."

    That is by definition shitty work.
