Audio Reviews - Captain America: The First Avenger - Audio Review

Steve Rogers makes up for his thin, sickly demeanor with courage and heart. These traits lead him to be the subject of an experiment that turns him into the world's first super soldier.

You all know what Disney/Marvel needs to do next, don't you? It's not the Avengers. It's Luke Cage: Hero for Hire!

I think Captain America was more believable than Thor.

I did not enjoy this movie.  Very superficial.  The story and plot was thin and by-the-numbers.  But the worst part were the actions scenes.  Nothing but CG; all the stunts and action scenes were just computer generated and not very convincing.  Very lame imo.

@abw2 sadly my email can't tell the difference between messages and spam when its from spill.com

@Timothy and @Luke Hero: I'm pretty sure everyone gets those messages. I can't say that they necessarily annoy me, but I'm actually more indifferent to them than anything else.

    AND

    As a result, I therefore simply ignore/erase them whenever I see them. P :)

Matinee, Red Skull should have been scarier...and I agree they could have done a much more in depth for the Skull and the conflict between Skull and Capt America

I finally saw it today. It was a fun summer movie, but certainly not a great one. The best stuff was with skinny Steve and Captain America as a marketing tool. The action scenes when he finally became the fighting Cap felt rather rushed to me plus all the stuff with Hydra felt rather laughable. The performances were good. I liked Chris Evans as Cap, Dominic Cooper really felt like he could be Iron Man's dad and Stanley Tucci stole every scene he was in during his brief role. The best action sequence for me was the chase scene that occurs almost immediately after Steve has been changed. It was the one scene when Johnston really captured that "Raiders"/"Rocketeer" vibe, mixing exciting action with humor (Roger crashing through the window of the dress shop). Definitely worth your time, but don't expect a masterpiece.

Just seen the film, jokes was funny, action alright however the overall story could of been stronger and i still believe red skull could of been more developed.

Just saw the movie, and it was awesome! The jokes were funny, the action and 3D were good, and I actually liked Chris Pine (which Iusually don't). I thought this was a really cool movie, andwas thrilled to be rewarded after the credits finished rolling with the Teaser for The Avengers which was toatally awesome! I agree with you guys that this movie really did what Sky Captain and the Wolrd of Tommorow failed to do. I'm not a big steam punk fan, but with the asgardian modifications to the science it made it plausible enough for me to enjoy the souped up weaponry and not find it cheesy or ridiculous. I really liked this movie!

I feel inclined to agree with you RobertBrown. I thought this film actually was a lot better than the original. Although, to be honest I never really saw the original all the way through from beginning to end, but I did however, see enough of it to be-able to compare it to Joe Johnston's version. I actually just got back from seeing the film in 3-D no less, and I yes, I was very well made. The only thing that I genuinely had a problem with I would say is the ending. I just expected for there to be more than what Johnston gave us, but that's what like the last maybe 5 or so minutes of the film, a film that was a good 2 hours give or take a few extra minutes or so. So, I won't make big deal out of that minor flaw. All in all if I had to rate this film, I'd give it 3 out of 4 stars easy. P :)

The negative reviews I've read of this movie all seem to have the same complaint. It doesn't work as a standalone movie and the reviewers would rather see the "modern" era/ Avengers Cap because that is the one they are used to.
