<<small spoiler>> Full Price, bordering on Better Than Sex; this movie was impressive. Gave u the action Cloverfield Teased u with, but held back just enough not to be a flop like Battle for Los Angeles. This was a movie that gave me everything I wanted in an alien invasion movie. This was an alien invasion movie, done right. We lost lol, loved it, was great, lots of mystery, it was amazing. Sequel, Sequel, SEQUEL I say lol. If u havent seen it, the ending, u wish for more

Good movie. Not great but worth the time spent watching it. Storyline had some gaps in it? Not much of a problem. Special effects? Sometimes worked, sometimes not (that was expected in a movie that relies so heavily on them). What bothered me the most was the camera angles that sometimes failed to deliver. Yet I am waiting for the sequel.

Sat through this movie unwillingly, my other half insisted, boy,by the end i told her any alien Mother F#k£r who invades this planet is taking her first. I was bored to hell and back, i love Sci fi movies but this was a great idea done badly. The other thing i could not get out of my head was that the aliens, especially the small alien ships type things with tentacles, were the same as those from the game 'Crysis'. This movie sucked. It started of boringly and ends with waht the F.... there was no substance or jump out of your skin moments. As for watching this giant spaceship just pull itself back together after suffering a major nuclear attack all credability (what was left) just went straight out the door. as for the ending, well it came straight out of a cartoon comic especially with the comic book picture ending. Watch this on the day the world ends, that way you will feel so shit you would not care.

One thing that kept taking me out of the movie was those fake anamorphic lens flares. All the natural lens flares from the sun were normal and the film was undistorted (straight lines), which obviously means it wasnt shot in anamorphic, hence flares wouldn't stretch. They must have watched too many Transformers movies.

I think perhaps the best review of this is the "May Contain Spoilers" review done in the Yatzee Krenshaw style. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcYzzvoTDII

i admit that these people in the movie where boring. the only one i even somewhat liked was the black guy. i do think it was somewhat original with the human brains, and the Ship regeneration. other then that it was boring but i would give it a rental. it does pick up after the air battle but the whole first 1/2 was boring and the 2nd 1/2 was a Matinee so the whole film was a rental to me.

This movie rocked my monkey ass again. I saw it again (Full Price, even though I wouldn't rate it a full price), because it made me want to make another one. It all made sense to me. But I think they should have made it totally a reality style cam corder thing similar to Cloverfield. I'm like if shit like this really happened, people would not be acting all mello drama fru fru. I mean if your gonna go for that go for that style great make it a Evil Dead comedy Horror thing. But I think it would be even more chaotic like if jet fighters came out of nowhere assuming there was no National Defense System to prevent such an attach, and started blowing up cities out of the blue without warning. people would just be running and hiding and dying. I think seeing the story from a more myopic perspective such as through the lens of a cam corder would have made it an excellent candidate for sequel to Cloverfield maybe.

I'm the second person who thought AVPR was okay with a couple "what the..." moments. Would I pay full price for it? Hell no! So I think movies by the Brothers Strause are entertaining for cheap rentals or catch it on TV of the switch your brain off variety. I knew not to expect much since the teaser trailer I saw was promoting Steven Hawking's theories on aliens more than the movie itself. So this was a set up movie? Didn't Hollywood learn their lesson about using poor movies to set up somewhat better movies from the Star Wars prequels?

This is what I love about your reviews - not only are they friggin hilarious, but you often successfully pitch what would've made the film a shitload better; how many other critics do this?

When the beginning credits began to roll and I saw "Directed by The Brothers Strause" this thought went through my head, "Aren't those the guys that made Aliens vs.... AWWW Fuck!" Then I proceeded to take a sip of my Icee and prepared myself for an hour and a half of my life to be wasted.

Wow this movie sounds so bad... Which is a shame cos the trailer for it looks really good. Well never judge a book by its cover.

This reminds me of Afro Samurai Resurrected. Spent most of the budget on effects and not much on story, and then story boards at the end. Oh well. Richard Simmons ending was great. Thanks for posting!

i agree i coulda used some more blood. i was imagining a blood ship that just ground all the humans up in a big grinder disposal unit and human blood was pumped through massive arteries and artificial veins through out the alien ship. that would have been great scene to me. more gore. but then i thought what would aliens want with human blood. still woulda been cool though.

i thought it was ok. not great but ok. ok enough to keep my attention and remain fun for the most part except for the drama in the middle in the apartment. honestly i wasn't really let down because i didn't expect much of this film to begin with. i go see anything that is up my ally and if its sci fi and got a bunch of aliens running around killing humans i will be in the theater (good or bad). although in my opinion it wasn't a bad movie at all. for what its worth it was like watching one of those b movies from the 50's done in the 21st century. i think to pick this movie apart and actually give it a real review would be giving it too much credit. it is whaat it is.

Most of the time I'm a sucker for these type of movies (War of the Worlds and Independence Day being my two favorite alien invader movies) But this movie it's way to shitty even for my taste .It try to be cloverfield, war of the worlds and ID4 and it ended being a boring mess of mediocre , by the end of it I was wishing for Roland Emmerich or Michael Bay to make this movie entertaining or fun at least. And seriously a sequel is in the works ?!! ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME ??? We clearly saw the aliens were unstoppable and pretty much wipe humanity off the planet like toilet paper wiping off crap so what are we suppose to see in the sequel ?? More humans getting their asses kick and people get stuck in a building for 3 days only to die later on ??!! No thanks. Next time gimme Roland's Alien sequel instead , at least that one ends with humanity having a chance againts the aliens. BUT on the bright side , at least this movie was WAY better than Vampires Suck or Sex and the city 2.
