  This is a good movie with great acting by EVERYONE being that the story is very simple. The story makes sense and the way some of the scenes were shot was excellent (sometimes its better not to have background music because it can cheese up the whole scene, there were a few). The silent moments worked (except the few scenes with the love interest, it seems like it would've worked better if she was a little more talkative. Two quiet people just seemed like a waste of time). The driver should've been quiet, he obviously has had something happen in his past where his quietness is keeping him out of trouble. But I would've given it a matinee, only because it was too subtle. Nothing was great, everything was just plain ol' good.

  I really loved the music and plan on buying the soundtrack instead of just piratebaying it,the movie was good but the last half was better than 1st half imo

  Albert Brooks deserves serious Oscar consideration for this movie. Just like Korey, I can't get him out of my head. Who knew that he could play a role like this?

  A great film and although the praise for Ryan Gosling is well deserved I do think that the stand out part is the Directors contribution to this. Its NicolasWinding Refn directon that lifts this very simple B movie into something much more. For a film called Drive its a brave man to instill some much stillness into most of the scenes, capturing the tender beyween Gosling and Mulligan, while ranking up then tension when Gosling lets loose with the Hammer in the strip-club. I'd seen Bronsan and Valhalla Rising and both were hugely impressive, but this is by far and away his best work yet,

   

  One brief word of warning for thos who are going to try Valhalla Rising - if you were bothered by the lack of dialogue on the part of Ryan Gosling then, this one probably isn't for you ;)

  P.S. the rest of my extra-long comment was cut off because...well, it was an extra-long comment lol. All I said after that was they seemed like a great pair because I kept confusing Michelle Williams w/ Carey Mulligan in the trailer for Blue Valentine, and I never really confuse an actor with another one (unless they both look alike and both suck ass or something lol).

  Other than that I just said how she's one actress that is so cute that it's sexy. I mean cmon even when she cries I'm like "aww" and just wish I could hug her. She has the best smile out there. Among other stuff I mentioned in the end was basically saying that she is the one actress that FINALLY made me think "wow, short hair can look REALLY GOOD on the right girl" and she certainly proves it. I mean she could shave her head and I would still say "she looks incredible!".

  See you don't need a woman to always be showing cleavage or being nude to show how sexy she is. I don't even know what her cleavage looks like because her eyes and smile are too damn attractive to even look away from lol. I sound so lame right now that I might as well say, if they're was ever a sex scene with her...while everyone else is trying to get a peak...i'll be going "ooooh DAMN look at those eyes!!! OH SHIT there's that smile again, did you see that smile!!!" lol.

  I'm really glad I didn't hear anything like "its an overly long music video"...because coming from a hip-hop head...I still loved the music in this movie. One song "Real Hero" gave the movie a sequence of peace in a way. Most of it definitely felt like an 80's vibe but in a really nostalgic way. The film almost felt surreal at times. The opening sequence though had me saying "wow" and theres really not much movies lately that will do that for me.

  Seriously though that opening heist getaway felt so possible that it tempted me to try it lol. It really felt like we were along for the ride (and we were the suspects sitting in the backseat...looking at eachother like "WTF is this guy doing?").

  I gotta admit, I see what Korey is saying though, Ryan Gosling is one smooth ass mofo. It really makes me think "damn, I wish I could just stare off into the distance, and chew on a toothpick and be as cool as him" lol.

  There was the occasional moments of silence (and staring)...but only one time it felt kind of awkward, but since I realized what the film was trying to do, it ended up actually helping the characters in a way that most movies can't pull off. Even the scene where the 2 REALLY did stare at eachother for a while (the apartment after the ride home)...and even that part was totally fine. It was when she gets a call and you soon hear her say "that was my husband's lawyer, he's coming home in a week" (or 2 i forget), and 'the Driver' just turns to her...looks back at the road...continues to wait at the stoplight...turns green...starts driving...and THEN the scene switches (but it didnt bother me either because it was set up to show that its one week later...without having to actually make people read the "ONE WEEK LATER" shit at the bottom of the screen, so it was useful atleast but YES it did have that awkward silence for a moment.

  Surprisingly though, that was really the ONLY problem I had, and it wasnt even a problem, it was just something I don't see much of so really...I dont even have any complaints about this at all. It was near-perfect. Even after seeing the trailer accidently, (and even had a minor Ron Perlman spoiler)...it STILL managed to surprise me and its the ONE movie this year that can actually be true to it's "adrenaline rush" quotes in commercials..im not even sure if they used that (again...for the 100th movie) but if not, this certainly is one engaging thrill ride from start to finish.

  and its true...the part w/ Ryan wearing the mask was actually creepy...that mask was used in a youtube video before and I thought "wow thats a creepy mask, but a damn good job making it"...then i saw this and was like "that aint creepy...its fucking scary!!!"

  I could go on about this movie...and the funniest thing is, this is the ONE movie this year I saw that as soon as the credits rolled...a guy stood up behind me and loudly said "WELL that was LAME!!!" and I just thought "what the fuck movies have you watched lately?" Ok maybe he just watched some classics like Heat or Taxi Driver right before coming, but really what the hell was "lame" about it? Because it happened to mix (some really good) pop music with a violent heist film??? and because a few parts were too quiet?

  I dont get it...all I know is this is a much longer comment then I meant to post...I just couldn't help but praise this movie. From the trailer and poster showing the pink, cursive written font for "Drive"...it already made me think "that has that stylish 80's look to it for some reason"...and of course that font (when do I ever talk about font that a movie used lol)...was a perfect hint of the stylized, noire-ish vibe this movie has from start to finish.

  Totally a Full Price for me. Although to be honest, during the movie and walking out, it felt like a "Better than Sex" for me...especially when you have Carey Mulligan in it (which to be honest, always seemed like a perfect match for Ryan Gosling because

  This was a matinee for me. I liked the cinematography, the music and the violence. The acting was fine and the pacing was okay. But in all, where the story goes by the end didn't leave me feeling that great about the film. I liked idea of it all, the setting, the plotlines and what not but in the end it didn't escalate to a place where I felt content.

   

  It kind of reminds me of No Country for Old Men which was also well shot and had a story which played out well and seemed to build well towards a huge finale. But that's not what happened in the end with that film either.

  I loved this movie, it's like it has everything that the fast and the furious movies don't have. Characters with a lot of depth, the fact that you truly feel for the characters, a sense of connection etc. It's a low full price, for me though. It would be a mid-full price if there were more driving scenes, and it would be a high-full price if Christina Hendricks got more air time. It seems like that scene alone with Gosling and Hendricks had a lot of potential and I would love to see what could of happened if she didn't get her brains blown out. That was kinda my only problem with drive, that scene was just wasted potential. Everything you guys said about this movie is why I love this movie. Great review spill :)

  I felt everything that happened in this movie. While retaining a dreamlike retro feel, I still felt emotionally connected to everything that was happening. I love Drive.

  Loved the film, thought it was fantastic. Loved the opening credits, the gruesome death scenes, the creepy mask and the simple but well put together story. Gave me a breaking bad vibe too, with the short dialogue, facial expressions and out of nowhere death scenes. Probably not the best film of the year but it was def. a full price
