I loved this movie, this was awesome! I don't agree with alot of your points here but I do realize that I went into this movie expecting what it was, Rocky with robots and I friggin' loved it!

And actually, I do think the elements worked quite well, I really felt for Hugh Jackman when he had to leave his kid for that hoe,

Also, don't diss Transfromers, the second and third ones were really bad but the first one was solid.

That was the first thing that I thought when I saw the trailer. Robots are going to replace real people fighting people? Bullshiiit. No matter what people are always going to be interested in seeing real people beat each other up, it's an art like any other, it's like saying photography will replace painting.

But good to hear it's a fun movie anyway. Reminds me of Night at the Museun, the premise looked so promising and it was still okay, but still disappointed that it could have been better, the second one was worse. It's like his films are always stuck in that range.

Why do people give Steve Martin's Pink Panther movies so much negativity ?

    highly enjoyable

puts a cool, slick feel to the sports genre

the special effects convinced me alot and the characters were spot on

the emotional stuff could have been dwindled down a bit, to me it slowed down the story

but by the end I was clapping and cheering

its Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots for little children :)

Personally, I loved this film.  Everything that y'all complained about didn't really bother me very much because, I think, I walked into this movie expecting a corny, underdog-rising-to-the-top kind of story.  And that's exactly what I was given.

The animation of this movie was solid, with fantastic looking fight scenes.  Each punch that hit its target was cringe worthy.  I could feel the impact that these robots delivered.

Pretty solid film in my opinion.  I'm gonna have to give it a Full Price.

Real Steal....Full Price...I can't believe that little stupid robot almost had me crying...It's not really a science fiction movie at all...not even a robot movie...it's much more of a boxing story with a father & son story going along with it

I remember a episode of the simpsons where homer pretends to be a robot and fights other bots.

I'm glad to hear that it wasn't bad. I admit that although the Transformers movies are bad. I still like em anyway. Even Dark of the Moon. And from the look of this trailer, Real Steel looks like everything that the Transformers movies should be. I'm definitely gonna check this movie out :)

I think the issue with Transformers was the scale. If you were actually watching 4 - 6 story tall robots fight it would be hard to make out at times. The power and speed of their movements would be incredible, and the ground they cover when moving would be a lot. Fast like us, not slow like Godzilla. They'd be especially hard to see at night (Bumble Bee vs. Barricade) which threw me off a little. If you couldn't tell who was fighting who, I'll be blunt you're stupid or have ADD or you're at least color blind.I said I'd be blunt, but seriously The deceptacons were sharp/bladed/red eyes and the autobots were Smoother/bright paint job/with facial features. And dang it, you knew what the heros looked like, if it wasn't them then it was a villain. Simple math.

if you guys would actually watch the movies, you would be able to tell what's happening in transformers. of course you won't know what's happening if you're just looking around and waiting for it to be over

This is being done here in the States and in Japan (on less bigger scale) all the time. Check out You Tube and type in Robo One.

    @Santos

I should have mentioned I’d have fonder memories of Robot Jox -- more than I already do -- if it was made in, say, 1985. Your point is valid regardless.
