There cannot be a deadpool movie. That has to be a rumor becuase the guy who played him was ryan Reynolds... who is now playing green lantern. There is no way hollywood would let him play two marvel characters. That would be so stupid.

I didnt hate the movie, but i gotta say that it wasnt as good as i thought it would be. Though i gotta say that i have faith on the deadpool movie because it's being written by the guys that made Zombieland.

I agree with you guys. But the only reason I watched the movie was deadpool and they f******d him up sooooo bad. But still the Wade Wilson part was prety good. The sword/gun fight with him was sooo coool! But if they do the deadpool movie how it is supposed to be done it will be a good movie. But if they do it wrong the fans will destroy the studio that produced it.

Lol well I am gunna get it for this. This movie was alright man, have no idea why people are bashing this movie other then its the cool thing to do right now. Yes the twist with Sabertooth and Wolverine starting out as brothers is not the classic storyline...but it does work. If you take this as its own story, a stand alone if you will then this was actually pretty good. The action was nothing short of great, and the special effects were top notch with the one exeption of when he was standing in front of the mirror cheaking out his new claws, ugggg worst CGI ever!! But I am not going to get pissy over 10 sec of bad movie makeing. Jackman again did an exellent job as did the rest of the cast. I am also happy to see they introduced Deadpool cause he is one of my fav's. True not all the mutants got to shine for an extended period of time but this is about the man with the claws not everyone else.

Bad way to start the summer. The only people I know that like this crap fest are the same people that like Love Guru. Oh and Jon, its not because they don't like summer blockbusters, they just don't like movies that suck.

You guys had me cracking up at the review. I'd put this one as a VERY low matinee. It looked like the producers said 'OK....we wanna make a big hit...but can we bring the FX budget down about 30%? Daddy's gotta save some cash' Jackman was a great as Wolvie, looking at Liev sometimes made me shiver cause he looked that menacing....Will.I.Am has the emotional range of a mako shark. They crammed too much into this flick and it kinda was a downer for me. Totally agreed that this is a forgetable flick.

me personally this movie, fantastic! screw those critics, I suppose they are just not big fans of summer blockbusters I gotta give the filmmakers credit fo trying to cram so much material under an hr and a half Hugh Jackman gives his all as Wolverine the movie is fierce, fast-paced, visceral and action packed alot of emotional moments as well to me, u pretty much get what's delivered to set up the events of the X-Men trilogy I guess my real concern was the involvement of sooo many other characters from the X-Men universe and that they were trying to cover Logan's entire backstory now you know they are planning more spinoffs for mutants such as Gambit and Deadpool I'm all for it nevermind the bad word of mouth, go see this movie, it IS an awesome start to the summer movie rush :)

i thought this movie was good plain and simple, fanboys need to shut the fuck up, they can't make it just like the comic books, they have to be able to fit it in the real world otherwise it'll be no diffrent then a live action saterday morning cartoon

There is nothing cool or enjoyable about this P O Shite. Honestly it has the worst third act of any movie I can think of: Wolverine's girl friend dies, he can't remember her, and he skulks off leaving the body laying there. It's sooooo bad this movie I have no guilt at all spoiling it for people. Unless one has the critical discernment of a child who hasn't built up a catalog of good and great movies in their memory, I don't see who would like this. Anyone who told me they liked it I could never trust their judgment recommending a film.

This is the moment I'm most sorry for not hanging around the site as much as I used to... This film is definitely "some ol' bullshit" and I agree on pretty much everything you say, but since I hadn't listened to your review, I went and watched it yesterday.. What I have to add to this analysis is that unfortunately this film was trying desperately to be based on merely two characters, those of Wolverine and Sabretooth; pretty much everyone else was below the status of "secondary characters"; I guess that there supposed to be a "triangle" and that that triangle was supposed to be completed by General Stryker, which I consider a character of similar importance to that of Professor X on the Xmen movies but apparently his role was terribly written.. Best thing of this movie was Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. I've never been a Deadpool fan but from what I've read about the character, I think he was portrayed perfectly by Reynolds (in the initial 5 minutes of course). Too bad they later took the usual steamy dump on the original story by turning him into a speechless mix of powers.. A shame really...

Speaking as a non-reader of Marvel I have to say.....I had fun with this movie ( please don't boot me off the site) I walked in with very low expectations, due to all the bad reviews I heard, and I actually had a good time with the film. I do agree with Corey that it is forgettable but fun and Carlyle hit the nail on the head using "Universal Soldier " to describe the plot. I don't think it is bullshit. One question: Is this worse than Spiderman 3?

personally i thought this movie was full price as with the other xmen films except X2 which was better than sex only thing this film left out is how sabretooth has no memory of jimmy in the first x men movie

everyone at spill has lost all credibility as movie critics. Spiderman 3 was full price and this movie is just ok? Well I'll just trust my gut instinct and say you guys suck.......hard. This was a good action comic movie. Not perfect but very fun. Spidey tres I rest my case. And put up a video review!!!

Not as good as X-Men or X2, but way better than X-Men 3: The Last Stand. The movie was not really bad. The reason people hate it is they expected Gold but found Bronze. The story was good and so was the acting as far as I could tell. I would give it a matinee or high rental. There have been much worse comic book films than this. The movie had some flaws but the two big ones that kept it from being a good movie were: 1) Unnessicary characters. Gambit, the Blob, Emma Frost, Cyclops, Professor X, and all sorts of mutants were thrown into the movie just for the sake of being able to say that they are in the movie. Gambit especially was unneccissary considering how much he was advertized. 2) Deadpool was just wrong: Like Gambit, Deadpool was advertized as one of the staples of this movie. He was not in this movie long enough to use the character to it's potential. When Wade actually becomes Deadpool he does not look or act like what fan's expected. I think you guys were spot on when you described this as a 80's action film. I personally love Rambo, Terminator, Escape from new York, etc... So I loved this movie. Of course there will be alot of people who are dissapointed because they expected another movie as good as x-men.

I saw it at a matinee and got about what I paid for it wasn't bullshit but it wasn't great. If I could compare it to anything I would say DareDevil or X3. about that level.
