For the record, d'Artagnan is supposed to be a cocky little shit. I've read some of the book and right from the start he was a very unlikeable character.

I just saw it and enjoyed it. Yes, it's stupid and does drag in the middle, but overall it's a fun little adventure film. Plus, it helped that, like Korey and Co-Host, I'm not a Three Musketeers purist and can judge each version on its own terms. It's the same reason I was able to enjoy the '90s version that I grew up with.

I usually enjoy dumb, pointless movies that are well produced... but this movie still failed. At best, it's a very low, bargin bin, get shit faced before you watch rental.

Y'all just convinced me to waste my afternoon off and see this in a matinee.  How can your hillarious reviews repeatedly convince me to go see crappy movies?  On your glowing review I rented 'Hobo With a Shotgun', and was left with a What the fuck? feeling.  Thanks you guys!

I want to see the end of this audio review as the end of the video review (if you end up making one), that would be absolutely hilarious.

So, was The Three Musketeers what I had been hoping for? The answer is a resounding yes. I never expected the film to be of a superb quality, I knew from the trailers that it was going to be silly fun and if anyone thought otherwise then they must have misinterpreted the trailers. While it is sure to divide audiences, I tend to fall on the positive side for this one. It may not be a superb film, but it accomplishes what it set out to do: show audiences a fun, mindless time at the movies. The Three Musketeers is like a better version of the previous G. I. Joe film, playing like a saturday morning cartoon version of the classic tale. It's definitely not a film for everyone, but I loved it nontheless. In the end, The Three Musketeers is fantastic fun.

I was bored out of my mind during this movie, and the American accents bothered me.

I will say that the only person in the cast that strangles this script and makes it his bitch was (of all people) Orlando Bloom. Bloom has a nasty habit of playing the pretty-boy action hero with uninteresting dialogue. Here he chews the scenery with his over-the-top villainous dialogue and it surprisingly works to become something memorable and fun.

At the end of the day, I was expecting this to be the worst adaptation of one of my favorite books and I was glad that it wasn't that bad. But it's by no means great or even good since the film missteps so badly with action that's not fun, dialogue that's so bland, and the plot goes all over the place that it becomes noticeable. Finally the Three Musketeers themselves are barely in their own movie and we're left to follow an incredibly unlikable protagonist with an even less believable romance than the one in the Star Wars prequels. It's not worth a ticket to the theaters, but you might get some enjoyment with renting it. I'm left disappointed that this film had such great ideas and was actually trying to tell the story of Alexander Dumas' classic, and it's brought down by a filmmaker's Dumbass mistakes.

So Richelieu's guards were basically the Storm Troopers of their day?

This is definately the start of a trilogy. And even though I personally gave the movie a rental after seeing it last night, I think the movie is not going to peform that bad at the box office because, as Paul W. S. Anderson pointed out, it is a familty movie. So a lot of families will go to see this movie because parents want to show the kids some literature transformed into film. Unfortunately, 60% of the movie has nothing to do with the book.

I'm a big Three Musketeers fan and I knew exactly what the movie was going to be like after seeing the trailer.  I'm still going to watch it though and enjoy it for the over-the-top fun that it is.

I can't speak for anyone else but myself. I don't mind comments whether its dissenting or concurring. What I mind is people who comment just to seem different or when they do they don't really have a strong argument. this was the problem I had with the people commenting on the transformers review (this goes for both sides) I'm not against free speech or anything but if you are going to post a comment that's different from what the masses are saying then I think you should at least have a valid argument. At least then anyone who is sensible would respect your views (even if they don't agree with it) most of the time people just post nonsense because they want to be heard. But then again that's just me. I do see your point and agree with you to a certain degree.

@darlinho  My point is valid because Im not blaming Korey or the crew for this.  Im well aware of him saying that he wants us to see for himself.  It's people who follow their opinions to the point of rediculisness to when someone cant admit to liking a movie that they hate without getting bashed by members on this site that follow their every word.  They may have feelings for thinking a movie is bad but that dosent make it correct. The only time someone can have the guts to disagree without fear of members attacking them is when its a criticly loved movie.  I respect the crew for having differing opinions for Transformers and Crank.  What I dont respect or appreciate is how other people are not aloud to have their own opinions without being panned for them not being like the crews.  Similar to what Bagheadman says, I think most people hear have the mentality of "They Panned it Now it Sucks".   Its either Korey's opinion, or don't bother commenting
