I don't know if anyone else saw this. But during the film, i counted 11 shots where the boom mike was clearly in the shot hanging over peoples heads. It felt lazy and kind of bothered me.

I just watched this. I'd give it a rental. It was funny but the plot was unfocused and the pacing was terrible

Great book, Being a white guy living in a Caribbean country on the brink of revolution, working for the news station and fueling my lifestyle on drugs and alcohol, I really identified with Rum Diaries.

I saw it and liked it. It did have a pretty lackluster ending and the love story never really seemed genuine to me, but it captured a lot of that Hunter S. Thompson charm that I love so much. I'd give it a Matinee.

I give it a matinee.  I understand completely that this film is not for everyone, but I had a fun time watching it.
