I'm sorry, but Cyrus's review is a bit ridiculous. This is just meant to be a badass action movie in addition to stunning visuals. I'd go so far as a high matinee.

Just saw it, and I usually agree with Cyrus, but what is he talking about? The story made perfect sense to me. Pretentious? Ok, but I'd take a pretentious action movie over a wacky Transformers (Starscream vaudevillesque death scene) any day. Also, this is a form of Greek myth during a time of brutal warlords where people lived and died by the sword. How would levity have helped? Plus the action was tight. Most action movies bore me with tedious action set pieces. For a popcorn action flick, I think Immortals was very good.

Yeah I'm torn with this review, just saw it at our dollar theater, glad I held out for a cheaper viewing, and it was entertaining for a friday with some friends.  Cyrus I love you man, but you sound... almost whiny/childish at 12:56, 11:10, and your riding Leon the whole way.  And i feel like the 'hit in the balls' scene was appropriate and pretty inventive.  Mindless violence and action are ok in small doses to break up the season of Oscar movie nods, a meh rental. Oh and as always, great review.

HMM I gotta disagree with cyrus about the visuals. the fight scenes were baddass. but I only liked when the gods fought.  Cyrus is one of my favorite critics on this site. But I dont think he's ever been right on anything relating to his opinion on visual standpoints in almost any movie.

I disagree. I felt like this was bringing reality to mythology, like a more realistic take on mythology. And I felt like 300 was a mythical take on reality, something that really happend in the era of mythology being religion. Visualy they are very similar, but thats about it. It was an ok movie. The Titans were frustrating and the ending didn't really make sense.. so now they are all warring in the afterlife?  and where did these hundreds of titans come from??? weren't their only like 12 or something? Also you said you don't know why Hyperion is going around killing. He wants to take over the known world by having the Titans kill the Olympians. I agree. Hyperion should have had some freakin cerberus or something. besides just a bunch of dudes. The minotaur dude should have been a real minotaur. This sin't comparable to God Of War. GOW slays this shit. This is more comparable to my ass. They could have at least shown some more tits.

    @K.O.

...sorry excuse for a movie critic. and i haven't even seen it yet.

I don't think I need to explain in detail how full of shit this comment is. Instead, epic facepalm - in addition to one more quiet justification for why I despise the human race.

really? so Cyrus hates it so much hes wanted the people to kill rouke character? You can say that about any film with a villain and an army GTFOH. sorry excuse for a movie critic. and i haven't even seen it yet. He has the most ridiculous reasons. "it looks like my PS2 graphics" SMFH

This is a combo of the Disney Hercules story. When hades wants to release the titans to destroy Zues and take over and part revenge you shoulda killed me the first time story.

The scenery in this movie (though mostly green screen I know) mixed with the non cut to cut action sequences made this movie well worth it for me. I'm a little byass being that I've loved nearly everything Tarsem Singh has put out especially "The Fall"and "The Cell". This is hell of a lot better than "Clash of the Titans" in my book and much unlike that movie I'm actually looking forward to a sequel to this one.

This was a movie that I actually was slightly looking forward to, but not really since it was heavily marketed as "the producers of 300" so it made me barely care to see it, but I thought I'd get some friends together and check it out.

I was definitely surprised. The dialogue isn't anything great, the story is here and there...but honestly the visuals were so awesome and the action and sets were so cool looking that I ended up having a lot of fun with it.

The credits rolled and I really didn't have any complaints. Not saying it doesn't have it's flaws...but I actually found it more fascinating than 300. Sure 300 is non-stop action...but I think thats why I didn't even like it much after the 2nd viewing.

This movie was so violent, and yet it didn't over-do any action or become boring from too much of it. Honestly until the final battle I didn't realize there wasnt too much action it...and then all of a sudden you get a few fight sequences all at once in the end..many movies will become bullshit if they try to show too many action-scenes at once (the end of this movie)...but THIS one succeeded because it was for a reason (how the 3 fight sequences at the end relate to eachother and can only be done right by showing them all at once).

I SHOULD give this a Matinee because really the story doesn't give you much emotion between the characters (and what they're facing)...BUT I ended up having to see a late movie that night because my friends couldnt make the matinee...and...I ended up not feeling like the extra $ for a late show was wasted. So I guess I have to give it a Low Full Price because its definitely fair.

Go figure Cyrus to be the one to nit pick the shit out of this.

The action in this movie was insane.  I didn't really think it was a good movie overall, but the action sequences were crazy and I totally bought Superman kicking ass.

This movie is easily in top 10 of the year IMO. The story was weak yes, but come on! For the whole point of this movie being a action flick the story wasn't distractingly bad. Simple and straight forward, but with AMAZING execution! I dunno WTF people are seeing as the problem here. This is a high matinee EASILY. And this isn't art? BS! Visually it most certainly is.

I'm fine with all this re-imagining, but it would be nice to see someone who actually gave a damn about Greek mythology make a movie about Greek mythology.

Cyrus...you don't get Pollack. i'm calling you out, because Pollock is BRILLIANT! sure his most famous paintings are splatters, but at least his splatter paintings have composition. he went to school as a studio artist, and painted still life portraits most his life. i'm sure you don't really care...you've got another shitty movie to complain about.

The Fall started out really good and intriguing, but got boring towards the end, I thought. Still, I'd be really curious to see this just to see some purty stuff.

The Fall was one of top 3 favorite movies. I don't understand why people are so harsh on it.
