I thought Valentine's Day was alright. It wasn't great, and few stories actually in it did I want to see play out, like the old couple's. But this movie was... Enh. Let's not mention Ashton Walden Kutcher turned in a terrible fucking performance. The one thing though that greatly disturbed me was Sarah Jessica Parker and Fergie's boyfriend/husband getting together. Buhhhh.

This looks to be a lot like that train movie that Leon hates...Unstoppable? The idea behind it is that celebrity worship is such an integral part of American culture that people will go and see these actors as if there old friends...they don't even care if there's a story or even a plot, really...so long as they get to see all the people they read about in the tabloids come together and have a great time. It's a bit disgusting really...the idea that Hollywood can be as lazy as they want simply because there's this insane hero-worship for celebrities.

Hey I almost forgot. This movie has a shitload of product placement. There are some shots that are blue only because the crowds are wearing Nivea hats and the ball is dropped by a switch with a Nivea logo on it. There's also a Moet but worst of all is the fact that a poster of Sherlock Holmes 2 appears somewhere in Times Square.

That's a lot to make Michael Bay and Adam Sandler blush because they're the evil masters of product placement.

Sigh...well, I can't say anything in this review was unexpected but it still depresses me nonetheless. I'm sad that Lea is in this. She might not be the best actress in the world but she's a brilliant singer and a great Broadway actress. As the popularity of Glee seems to be waning, I hope she finds a place for herself. On an unrelated note, I'm kind of impressed by Leon's imdb level of name recollection.

It sounds like a bunch of CBS sitcom plotlines mashed together that I think I've seen together.

A WHORE NEW WORLD! To quote some chick from the trailer, "there's gonna be more celebirties here than in rehab."

I just noticed in the trailer that a billboard says Battle: LA...now that wouldnt be a problem if they were celebrating 2011 as the NEW year...but theyre celebrating 2012 :/  I guess somebody forgot to take down the billboard for over 1/2 a year.
