Brad Bird makes a spectacular debut into live-action directing by making Mission Impossible 4 Ghost Protocol a fun, epic and exicting action movie sequel with awesome action scenes.

I give Mission Impossible 4 Ghost Protocol a Full Price and I am looking forward to the sequel if Brad returns to the director's chair.

I dunno what you guys were smokin when u saw this to think they've perfected the MI formula by turning it into a lame-ass goofy comedy. The action scenes where overall no better than what had come before, and as for this being the first film he actually works in a team, that's just plainly and obviously wrong - no offense, but I seriously wonder if you guys even remember the other films! Though it' not perfect, MI3 had a dark plot crammed full of twist and turns and genuinely shocking and surprising moments, not to mention a FANTASTIC villain in Phillip Seymour Hoffman - how you think this cartoonish wafer thin bullshit is better I just can't fathom, unless you guys really are more interested in what a film looks like in 3D Imax than you are in anything else. The only thing I really didn't like about MI3 was Simon Pegg - in MI4, I just wanted to punch him in his stupid little face from start to finish. Lame, take away all the edgyness and intrigue from the franchise and replace it with unfunny comic relief, a recipe for success with morons everywhere

Come on Korey, can you please stop bullshitting for so fucking long before you get to the review?!

Decent movie. Seen better, seen worse. The visuals were great. There were a lot of moments of suspension of disbelief which is to be expected from a MI movie. Based on the phone call at the end telling what the next mission is, I'm wondering if the next movie is going to be called Mission Impossible:Saint's Row?

On a side note, one of the trailers that played was for the new GI Joe movie. At first I'm thinking "looks like a full price". Then the Rock shows up. "Oh, this is now going into the rental pile". Until, John fucking Maclain pops up as the GI Joe savior. Welcome to Some ol Bullshit.

    Funny review guys.

I also find it amusing when you complain about something in a film not making sense... but it's explained right there in the film... and all four of you missed it.

The car and other equipment... do you not remember a scene that takes place outside of a plane...?  :-D

    Great movie. Great review.

‎'Ghost Protocol' is the BEST of the Mission Impossible movies first-time live-action director Brad Bird really brings spirit and edge to the franchise Tom Cruise slips so easily back as IMF agent Ethan Hunt along with a new crew the plot resembles the 1st 3 movies so much but I love the many action sequences, the state-of-the-art gadgetry, the funny lines and the non-stop thrills kept my heart racing throughout alot of it and Im so glad they gave a decent explanation to what happened to Ethan's wife from the last movie; sucks though that Ving Rhames was sorely absent until the last 5 min the last movie to wrap up 2011 immediately screams popcorn entertainment! :)

sucks though that Paula Patton killed that female assassion, that was such a good catfight :)

cracks me up every time you guys complain about something in a movie then i go see it and it's explained to you right there in the movie.  they had more gear and the car because the arms dealer gave it to them.

I barely know anything of the original MI series, not seeing one of them myself. The only reason I want to see it is for its director Brad Bird.

I am admitidly a manic Pixar fan, and any fan of the company will know that Brad Bird is the director of both 'Ratatouille' and 'The Incredibles'. He also directed another famous animation 'The Iron Giant'. This is his first ever live action feature film of which he's directed, so I'm really excited to see the transition he can make from Animation to Live Action, and I'm supporting him all of the way.

Umm I liked this movie alot and I liked all the other Mission Impossible films as well, but to me this wasn't the best one, this was the 2nd best behind the 3rd one. The 3rd one was an adrenaline rush through and through. But none the less this was a good film.

I did the whole Imax experience tonight to gauge the picture quality and to see the Dark Knight prologue.  The prologue wasn't included!  So basically I paid an extra $5 a ticket for a slightly better than normal picture quality.   With 2D films, the sound seems to be the redeeming factor.  Damned seats rumbled during the explosions and the ignition of the rocket.  Still, it's the last 2D movie I see in Imax, ever.  The movie was very entertaining and kudos to the sfx people who made that death leap look so real.  I'm glad I saw the movie.  Now onto Tin Tin...in Imax 3D...matinee show tomorrow!

This was a really great review!  Can't wait to see this in the theater. Remember Tom Cruise's turn in Tropic Thunder as Les Grossman? It's easy to pick on Tom Cruise, but he has certainly always been a respectable actor.  I'm a big fan of Simon Pegg's brand of comedy since the excellent Shaun of the Dead as well, and I like spectacle in my action films so it seems this might be a winner for me.

Saw it yesterday, and damn that was a fun roller coaster ride. I've never enjoyed any of the Mission: Impossible movies mostly because they were the Tom Cruise show and featured VERY forced romantic subplots for Cruise. But there's none of that here. Instead, there's pure action, genuine humor, witty camaraderie, and great teamwork. Brad Bird, your debut as an action director is giving me a craving for something more from you. I look forward to what you can whip up next

Eh, half the reason why people love M:I 3 is because J.J. Abrams directed it...  His die hard fans are just as bad as the Whedon fans...  Anyway, to me, the movie was pretty friggin' boring, and all the emotion and the romance rang very false & trite (just like it did in Super 8).  To me, "Ghost Protocol" is the best one out of all of them because, unlike the previous films which had lots of action but lacked excitement, made me want to overlook the plot inconsistencies just to get caught up in the action and the brilliantly conceived set pieces.  To me, at least, it beats the hell out of Mission Impossible 3, and it really isn't even close.

For anybody who has listened to Brad Bird's director's commentary on The Incredibles, many of the points he makes about action films are knocked out of the park in this movie. Also loved the Incredibles feel that came from Michael Giacchino's score.

I wouldn't mind seeing this film. I actually didn't like MI3 all that much. It had a good first hour,  but the second half was a bit of mess. The last scene with all the laughing in the office is one of the cheesiest endings ever

Korey won't change his mind, this ain't no Indiana Jones 4, this film has 95% on rottentomatoes and did 13 million on only 425 screens, the movie is getting praised all over the place.
