As much as I'd like to rent this I feel like every time I watch it, midway into a sex scene I'll want to turn it off and watch a porno rub one out, pass out, wake up and do the same thing over again.

Another flick I really want to catch but I doubt it'll ever get here. That NC-17 rating won't help either. Fuuuuu-

Saw this film last Friday and loved it.  I personally love the silence between the characters. That's the director's... style (if you can say since this is only his second film). He loves intense moments of silence and when bits of humanity are shown, it's all dialogue in one shot (there's an epic scene in Hunger like this). In this case, it's the date scene with the girl that cares for.

Great review and very fun to listen to...

Glad you guys reviewed this, I've heard so much about this movie but most of it has been "yeah, you see tons of junk in this movie" and I keep asking "Yeah but what is the movie about" "It's about Michael Fassbender walking around with his junk out, that's what." So I'm glad I actually got a good solid review of the movie so I now know what's up with it.

Films like Shame and Blue Valentine gets NC-17 yet films like Saw and Hostel gets an R.  Like you guys said Shame has a message about addiction.  Whereas Hostel is about torturing people.  I don’t know what goes inside the MPAA’s head except [penis in vagina] is a no-no.

Michael Fassbender starring in the new American Psycho remake would be amazing...just saying.  Great review as always.

I watched this film in the theatres last week and I find it to be the best movie of 2011.  Also, if one is concerned with there not being an ending in Shame, note the scene early in the film when Brandon sees the pretty woman on the subway train and that even though she wears a wedding ring, he still pursues her.  Now, look at the final shot of the film and note what he does (which is nothing).
There is a solid conclusion to the film and many people, including top US critics don't seem to think so.  I believe that this film deserves a second viewing, but I don't know if I could even watch it again.  It's that good and it's that tough to watch.

@Josh: Geez, calm down. He didn't say Fassbender should replace Craig, he's just saying he'd do a good job, which he would.

Daniel Craig already does a great job as Bond.  He's passionate about the movies being good and sounded pissed that the last Bond movie wasn't as good as it should of been.  Why do people always look for new actors to play Bond when they should be asking who are the writers and Directors going to be the make the series better.
