Good review surprised you guys didn't talk about that third act more, especially when it got really serious and emotional. Didn't like it as much as you guys, but maybe I'm just nitpicking. I'd say Rental.

This movie wass GREAT. (this Fall has had better quality movies than most of this whole Summer). The Town / Easy A are the best so far. Im glad this was more of a comedy, and not a rom-com.

Ok, I saw this on Saturday and I will give this a high Matinee, low Full Price because I did enjoyed it that much. I dont think that the parents were too liberal, just liberal enough. I dont why they adopted a black kid but they said in a joking way that their, "inside were not 'cooperating' together" which gave you the message that they cant have kids or have a low chance of having kids. But all means, I think that the movie's message was, "Why should you care about repettion and he said/she said bullsh**?!"

@ModernCinderella Scott Pilgrim is Scott Pilgrim for girls :) Penn was hot in this (the love interest). Looks like this movie could be fun.

It's not a bad movie about abstinence... It's just the whole teen who is more adult than the adults doesn't quite work in some of the decisions she made.

Well given that they are in a school full of really attractive people it's not completely out the question that she wouldn't be noticed. They don't say she isn't attractive or a nerd or horribly disfigured or anything. She's just not very popular. It was the Amanda Bynes overly religious character who spread the rumor. They do make a point of saying in the film that she might as well go along with it. The first character to approach her after her gay friend Brandon tells her that he could say what he wanted to and people would believe him anyway, because of her reputation he doesn't need her cooperation. She accepts the giftcards and things because at least she can still keep control over the situation. I agree with Leon about how the film ended. They were juggling too many characters and plotlines (weak writing in that sense though all the humor was great) and then they just threw it together at the end in a really unsatisfying way. I agree with Cyrus about Penn Badgley's character, Todd. They didn't really establish anything about his character to make you think he was in any way unpopular or that he kept to himself. We see him whenever Emma Stone sees him. Even being the mascot he's involved in school activities...and he used to be a shirtless Blue Devil. She sees him at his job. She sees him at a party. I can think of two times when she sees him around school and talks to him and he's not in a dorky costume. At the end of the film, at the party, and after he's finished at his job he's not in costume. Why focus on the two times he's in costume? Emma Stone, Stanley Tucci, and Patricia Clarkson really do a great job, though. People should give this movie a chance. It's better than the trailer suggests.

Book of Eli would have been much more interesting as Christian allegory rather than just a tale of typical vague whitewashed Hollywood spiritualism. What's the point of the book being the Christian bible if the lead doesn't seem to derive any specific worldviews or philosophies from it? I'd have loved to see a story about a vagrant trying to adapt Christian teachings, or any doctrine requiring strict (often counter-productive) adherence to the lawlessness of a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Instead, it's barely mentioned in fear of offending. Again, this is coming from a nonreligious person.

I was actually thinking about seeing this. Since you guys said it was actually pretty good, Then I'll go see it either at a Matinee or Rental. Still plan on checking this out along with The Town. And for the people who are complaining about the new Player, They Already changed it back to the old one, So Shut Up.

Please keep this old player. The new one doesn't let you load and go. At work, I'll sometimes hook my netbook up and upload a review or podcast, and then listen to it on my commute home. The new one wouldn't let me do it today. I had to be connected for it to work.

@TheDarkAdonis My time in Catholic school, brief as it was, left me with the same impression. I'm not sure what it is with the Catholic church but it's terrible at deterring it's young people from chasing tail regardless of how religious they claim to be.
