When I heard about this I first thought they were making a movie about Sarah Jessica Parker but, this is some ol' Bullshit for me. I HATED this movie. It was tedious as hell

Was so disappointed in this film, a rental at best. Thankfully The Adventures of Tintin was a blast.

So if you are to take them at their word, that would mean that also hated E.T. & Close Encounters...this movie more than any other modern Spielberg movie, feels like those two....are heart-felt, emotionally driving film that attacks the audience at their core....this review couldn't be more wrong.

I love Spill, but I usually don't agree with your opinions, at least not completely.  Today I saw War Horse, and I've got to say, this is one of those times when you really nailed how I felt about it.

I could tell, just from the trailer that this would be just some cheesy ass film. I think from how I heard how the film plays out, and from the clips I've seen, this film would be a whole lot better if the kid was a lot younger, because like you guys said for a guy, this old, to be going crazy over a horse is just creepy, Shouldn't he be off getting some ass or something?

Maybe this movie would be better if it was re-edited to be a Budweiser commercial.

I liked this movie for the reasons you guys hated it. I liked that it was a little bit cheesy, it made it feel like an older film. It was way too long though.

Can't compare to the play because its about using art to surpass the limitations of the stage to create drama and dimension...plus nailing a performance perfectly in the moment. I'm sure Stevie will sink a ton of cash to make it look all that BUT...missing the point about limitations and surpassing them.

WHAT?! He writes love letters to his horse? How the f**k does that work?

I agree with the "some ole BS" rating. The ultimate insult a movie can inflict upon its audience is armtwist them into feeling the things it wants the viewer to feel. I happen to possess the capacity to decide that, thank you very much. It just shows off the inability of the creatives to contruct the movie in a way that would entice an emotion without having to hammer it in. Besides, it is just an ordinary horse. It is not like it is neon-colored and has a butt tatoo. Now THAT would be interesting to watch.

    wait...

It felt like a movie I saw 487439 times. It's a goddamn horse...!

I agree, the only part I thought was really good was the cinematography and the two guys getting the horse out of the barbed wire. I also kind of liked the grandfather and granddaughter part of it. Still brings it to only a rental and just skip to the last 40-30 minutes, trust me you aren't missing much. Not a good year for Spielberg with Super 8 and this, won't say tintin because I haven't seen it. You guys hit the nail on the head with this one, keep up the amazing work
