I have no idea how you guys can criticize War Horse for being emotionally manipulative when this film is unquestionably the worse offender.

Saw this movie the other day, it is gut wrenching, but by and far one of the best movies of the year.

It would have been awesome if they got Hector from breaking bad to be the guy who doesn't talk. Maybe you guys should stick to Jane Austin movies if you think this is one of the best movies of the year.

-2 constructive suggestion about audio reviews-

(i love your site and reviews and podcasts and  and community and i just want to share 2 ideas that i think would be really cool)

    -----------------------

idea 1, please compare the movie you are reviewing to many other movies

please in the review share at least 3 movies in the last 10 years that are similar

please in the review share 3 movies that you feel are similar but do a better job

please in the review share 3 movies that you feel are similar but do a worse job

please share 3 movies that are more that 10 years old that are better than the subject film

"if you like this part of the movie check out these other 3 movies" for the major themes in the movie

    ---------------------

idea 2, please add many user polls to each movie review

i think there is a way to have each person who comments or has a user account vote on polls like how we rate the movie (like meta critic has the critic rating and the user community rating)

i think you should have more user polls enable to let us in the community help give feed back in a way where everybody knows there vote will be counted at the end

thank you for awesome site, i bring your site content with me on long work trips and it helps me stay normal

Most kids are annoying...and that includes kids on this site, that's kids being kids.

If you're a parent like I am, and you were around during 9/11...it was very interesting looking at the art little kids make every anniversary in NYC. It's not hateful but very surreal and disconcerting. And that is a big part of this movie, the thought process of a child dealing with losing his dad. It's not an easy book to read...and the movie does a better job of focusing it but it's still just too stringy to fully enjoy.

Not the easiest book to get through, probably a better film...Jonathan Safran Foer's Every thing is Illuminated is by far a more effective and executed movie adaptation.

    strange

I dont get the title of this movie

plus did they really have to connect it to 9/11?

In regard to the tags, how did you write out the title or actors' names without each word getting separated by commas when you publish?

@Cyrus: "Accident"?  No matter what the cause or the result, the toppling of the Twin Towers wasn't an "accident".

@Leon: Anna Paquin, who at the time was 11 years old, became the second youngest ever Best Supporting Actress Oscar winner for The Piano, after Tatum O'Neil, who won the award in 1974 for Paper Moon, at 10.

It's strange how this film is getting such mixed reviews, like 49% on rottentomatoes and stuff, I keep hearing love and hate it from most reviewers, you guys fall into the love category and I wonder what people aren't liking about the film.
