    It's good to hear that this movie is not just a one-sided, left-wing, hippie movie.

    @Jamila

    Just saying people do stupid things with ice too. And I found that story interesting then and still do.

    Ya, it is Inuit.  Up here in Canada, these days calling an Inuit person an Eskimo is like calling a Black person a Darkie.

    "Smarter than any other animal except humans, but there's a sizable gap there."

    Um... guess you missed the story in Feb 2009 when over 100 ice fishermen had to get rescued when the ice they were on separated from the land and floated out into the lake Erie.  They put a wooden plank down and decided it would work as a bridge... despite the fact that the day was warming up. Temperature had been rising all week long, but hey... there were fish to be had so lets go out there with our trucks and equipment.  What could go wrong?

    Two people died.  So... yeah, the gap between intelligence... not as wide as we'd like to believe it is.

    Am I the only one who has a problem with Fred, Wilma, and Bam Bam.  That is not there fucking child!!!  Also the slow motion scuba walk towards the hole in the ice in the trailer is absolutely hilarious.

    I looked up the story cause you guys got me interested in what actually happened.

    Turns out John Krasinski's character was actually an Inuit fisherman and it was the INUITS who worked for several days trying to get them out before anybody else took notice. So they kinda got the shaft in this movie, which sucks
