I really like when I learn about structure in movies and how they're usually paced or generally what goes into making good movies. Really good review guys. Glad to hear Co-Host in the reviews again.

It just baffles me how it's hard for people to write characters correctly... people just try to hard to avoid stereotypes or create sympathetic characters without having a fucking clue about how people really act. Sociology and psychology, I think, are beneficial to at least know some of to create in-depth and dynamic characters, and if you don't know how to write characters with a very thorough psychology, then just don't try to make them deep at all.

The 5th generation ivy league thing is pretty stupid since that would take him back to about just after the Civil War.   BUT it is plausible that the character is referring to a white ancestor or that he is referring to "black Ivy" schools, which were schools of varying academic reputations that were all black pre-civil rights.

It's like The Blind Side for black people. But the woman should have really been white to be a whitesploitation film.

Judging from the trailer, Tyler Perry doesn't seem to do serious well. He speaks like he's about to fall asleep any second into the movie. He's all mumble and monotone. I don't like the fact that he replaced Morgan Freeman as Alex Cross. Don't get me wrong. I think it's awesome that he's pretty much built an empire from the ground up. He's a very good business man, but he should stick with what he knows best: Comedy.

This movie has a 28% on Rotten Tomatoes and 2.5% on IMDB. Ouch!

I mean some of Spike Lee's Movies are bad, but at least they're not mundane and unoriginal? Tyler Perry just takes every cliche white people have already done to death and puts in black people.

White people Have done every Dam thing...... hell 90%  of the Movies that come out has either only 1 Black person (that dies in the movie)  or none..........

The first black person to get degree from Yale was 1857. We can assume a Generation is 30 years, 5 x 30 is 150.  2012-150= 1862. Also who is to say his first people there were not white. At first  I was like you guys but it is possible .
