It was good but not great. I feel that is a mix of other movies. Its about A single woman that is tired of always being the bridesmaid at her friends' weddings. This time, she sets off to find her own Mr. Right. The story is predictable and a little bit cheesy. It has some nice moments of humor and good drama too. The cast is good, Katherine Heigl was good and James Marsden gives a decent performance, Malin Akerman was ok, I feel her a little overact and Judy Greer maybe she was the best with a role full of irony. One of the good things of the movie is the various landscapes from New York City and the soundtrack is also good In conclusion this is a 100% chick flick, women will love it, men avoid it

Comment to Ms. McGuffin...Okay, listen up here you bitch. First of all, these guys may have overstepped their boundries somewhat, but to say that "the character didn't want to get married, she was just jealous", that means, YEAH SHE DID wanna get married...Once your jealous of something 27 times that means you want to have wehat they have, and that's marriage, and women like that ususally, you'd want to run the fuck away from them, seriously...Sure, If I wanted to marry someone, I wouldn't want to marry someone right off the spot, and in every romantic whatever BS there's that whole miscommunication crap that I can't stand, plus that whole "It doesn't matter if you have a carrer or a life, if you aren't in ANY relationship, you ain't worth shit" stereotype that pisses me off, because it doesn't insult just women, it does the same crap to guys as well, and that means it insults HUMANITY itself! Sure Hagel didn't act like the psychotic bitch, but in real life, there are women who would be the psychotic bitch that would chain you to a bed and force you to marry her...You'd be fucking surprized, McGuffin! Also...How is anyone supposed to take your arguement seriously if you're saying "See my blog" in your arguement like a Pop-Culture Advertizement?!

I took the gf to see this and was bored shitless. But I owed her since she's seen a lot of movies with me that I know she wasn't that keen on. And Korey-she did show her thanks later in the night. ; ) And I didn't even wake up chained to the bed or anything. Definitely a rental...

You men just don't get chicks at all. Sheesh. I am not a lover of the predictable chick flick - but you are missing out on the REAL message of this movie. It wasn't that she wanted to get married ... it wasn't that she was jealous ... it wasn't that she had poor taste in fashion that she kept all those dresses. It was because she was a caregiver. She was a pleaser. She cared more for other peoples' happiness before she cared for herself. To those men in here that need a refresher course on how some women tick - I went into more detail about this on my blog. Feel free to take a gander. And those men who disagree with me? Go watch Caddyshack while scratching yourself on your Lazyboy. :)

James Marsden made this movie tolerable??! I have to eat my words, after he played cyclops in the X-men movies I thought he was the worst actor in existence His past few movies have shown his range, especially the Disney flick

I totally know how you feel about these romantic comedies, Corey. They do kinda talk down to women and the same sometimes goes for chick flicks.

Oh dear God not again!! I can't take this shit no more!! Step it up 2? Let another damn dance movie come out this year and you won't have to worry about another WGA Strike because I..yes I will personally Kamikaze Ride an Atom bomb down on California, Miami, New York, or Whichever state that I receive a slight scent of Adidas shell toes pop locking, and moonwalking, to a JLo soundtrack. I almost ran down 6 cheerleaders because of "Bring It On" I stop going to football games just cause of "Drumline" (which i really didn't think was so bad but it made every asshole with drumsticks play with a blindfold) Now this shit....damn

Thanks for the review on this, the story does seem a bit twisted, to save THAT many bridesmaid dresses... and in agreement with Miss.Michelle, I've had enough of the "women must get married" theme. Whatevah. Great joke on Korey, guys.

I am going to see this today. I couldn't talk her into seeing Cloverfield, oh no. And I guess I do owe her after making her watch American Gangster, 30 Days of Night, Dawn of the Dead, The Departed, etc, etc. I am thinking that I can probably be snoozing before the previews are even over... *hangs head in shame* : (

No, Korey's right. You're better off taking a girl home after Cloverfield and saying "wanna see my monster?" That way after you tear the sh*t out of "Lady Liberty" she'll just want to skip town ASAP.

OMG..I could not agree more about James Marsden. I really agree with this review. I felt the movie did grow duller as it went. And I so agree that from a feminist perspective, hell for women in general, it is a bad message. Why did she have to get married? I didn't get it. There are too many women out there right now who believe they HAVE to get married. That's not how I'm raising my daughters. I just want them to be able to support themselves outside of a man and most of all be happy with themselves as they are. And I haven't eva eva kept a bridesmaid dress after a wedding. That was psycho to me, but I loved how she turned the tables on all those women she was bridesmaid to and made them wear those monstrosities. How I wish I could have done that to my friend Carla with that Gone with the Wind Pepto Bismol Pink Maid of Honor dress she had me wear..with a hoop skirt. The things you do for your friends.
