Ok I just want to say this. I really hate vampires, not because all they do is bitch around with werewolves but because they act all sweet and glitter in the sun. But, in this film I actually got back into loving them because of how violent, how viscous they are. In other words I like real vampires

Just saw the movie recently and quite liked it. The vampires in this film are not your Rice/Stoker/Sparkling Vampires most of which are not frightening. They are not smooth, sexy, and suave. They're more like the old vampires of folktales and thus more frightening. I like that they are feral yet have a cunningness to them. It makes them all the more different from people as oppose to the stereotypical vampires who come off as sexy elitest serial killers who go clubbing when they aren't looking for blood.

I like Josh Hartnett and I think he's a good actor, but overall, it was just OK. the movie had a pretty cool concept and some good parts, but 4 me at least, I don't think it's anything that special~~~RENTAL

I give this a Matinee, but a pretty strong one. It had nice gore yeah, but since I am a pretty huge fan of gore I wasn't very impressed since I've seen better but although the gore was nice, and I think it looked kinda silly with the zampires clothes, but never mind about that it was some good acting and excitement, everything a horror movie needs!

Why does it say rental? None of you gave this a rental... This was pretty awesome.

I really loved this movie, I wasn't bored once and it kept me on the edge. My only complaint was the ending. FULL PRICE! Dracula got nothing on these bloodsuckers.

I thought it was an amazing movie with a great storyline, good actors, and loads of gore. I only thought that the action should have been spread out more throughout the movie, and not just the same boring thing over and over. The characters simply move from house to house and eventually meet up with vampires that will undoubtably eat them up. Also, how in the world do the vampires not find them in a very small town in which they don't stop searching for 30 days. Anyways in the end it was well thought out and it's worth watching more then once. It's a MATINEE for me.

This looks like a standard horror movie. As I am not a fan of gore, I'm skipping movies like this.

This movie was incredibly boring, it took too long to get into the good stuff.

Another great vampire movie using New Zealand effects genuises "weta Workshop" which i hate to remind everyone again, but is the same company that made our famous lord of the rings characters. Its made mostly in new zealand i found out, and the majority of the actors that star in it are actually from NZ and Aussie, Josh hartnett is like one of the only US actors in the movie. The reason hwy the spill guys love the horror so much, as its influenced by peter jacksons early gore movies, And if you wana see peter jacksons first movie, Watch braindead, and youll see what i mean, I love this movie, Thought the vampires were very original

Also the time frame thing didn't work and the Pot Granny Daylight bulb thing but the fat guy chopping the vamps up with his snow plow thing was cool!

I LOVE this movie, i just finally watched it a little bit ago, the gore was excellent. cyrus your crazy. I was tense the entire time and even though the person i was watching the movie with was dead tired they didn't close their eyes once, it was like they were wired. lol.

what gives? I watched the review and I hear full price, matinee, and I look to the side where it shows the spill rating and it says rental.. was it update after the movie had been out a while or what? I realize it's a moot point since it's not on at the show anymore, but I use the ratings to decide if it's worth my time.

I saw this movie first week it was out. I dug it. Not a cinematic masterpiece by any means, but the movie made the vampires the bad guys again. These weren't your Buffy or Angel or Anne Rice "woe is me, I'm a vampire" type of vamps. No, these vamps were bloodthirsty killers that tortured and terrified their victims before killing them. Def a nice return to what the genre should be about-monsters being monsters again...
