I loved this movie, I also love the short, it helped to inspire to start working on my own short films

I expected a lot in this film and they impressed me and also scared me. There are two things that I really didn't like in this film. One was the storyline. Was such a random storyline. Don't want to ruin the film so won't talk about it too deep. The second was the way storyline goes. Everything ended too quickly. This film is like 80mins. Was too short In my opinion. But some scenes are creepy enough to scare you. Shane Acker did an amazing job in this film. But There could be a little bit more improvement. Overall, Great movie to watch! not with little kids though. :p low Full Price :D

High Matinee, almost Full Price. This movie had a good story and some great characters that anyone could relate to. The problem is that the movie is too short. It could have been a bit longer. This movie is great if you are a science fiction fan like me.

I really liked 9. It's original, it was created by 1 man. It looks gr8. Although, I completely agree with what the guys say are the faults. This was PRODUCED by Tim Burton, not Directed! Another thing is that I met the director - Shane Acker - last Summer and I told him the problems with the film and he said he couldn't agree with me more. It was too short, he edited too much out, not enough dialogue and there was a better ending to be had. He told me that he was on a $30M budget and on a tight schedule and he also said that after he's worked on another film, he could come back and either re-do the film. Make like a of extended version of sorts or a complete sequal to '9'. Either way, I can't wait for his next film. And so, I give '9' a low Full Price.

I loved this movie I agree with all of you at points, Cyrus for the full price and the reason for not a lot of back story. But I also say that this was short I really liked it and felt a lot for the little stitch-punks and when it ended I was like "IT'S OVER!?!? WHY!?!" I still gotta say it was awesome! But please Korey, put up the audio for this!

Saw it a couple of days ago and liked it. I agree with some points you guys make: the story wasn't very complex, and the ending could have been a bit better. But on a visual scale, this film is spectacular. That alone is a reason to see it. The voice acting was also fairly well done. I didn't love this movie, but I enjoyed it for what is was: an intriguing post-apocalyptic movie with a very interesting set-up. High Matinee

Saw it today and I have to agree with the guys on some of their points. but the two main points i agree completely were the length of the film and the ending. Didn't hate it since I like the direction it took but I also felt that there was so much more the director and crew could have done. I go with matinee or a high rental since it's a movie you can see and be curious about it but it's nothing too new and exciting.

I saw this movie a couple weeks ago and it was okay, but it was typical and it kind of made me mad. So, I'm not going to see it again, but I would give it a Matinee.

I donno about this....the trailer made it look like a bunch of action sequences and some amped up music. They have some good actors doing the voices of the characters which is cool, but it still doesn't look like anything that would bring me to the theater to watch it. Movie Questions

The story didn't make any sense to me. Clocking in at 79 (!) minutes, you think they would have spent, oh, 11 minutes fleshing out the story. The ending sucked. I'm sure it was supposed to be meaningful, but since I didn't give a rat's ass about a single one of these characters (and it is the story's job to make me care), it didn't mean anything. And another thing, why was it that every time the sack-bots ran away from something, once they were safe, they stopped to catched their breath? They are fucking robots! Did the damn scientist give 'em LUNGS to go with the soul? I don't care how great a movie looks, if it's not backed up by a decent, intelligent story, then it's a complete waste of time. If you want to go somewhwere and spend money to look at pretty pictures without any kind of story, go to a damn museum. Some 'Ol Bullshit!

9, for its scale, is a pretty tightly fashioned action movie. The Spill crew is correct that the basic premise for the story is based on the dystopia envisioned in Terminator, where man’s insatiable appetite for better technology produces artificial intelligence that is self-aware, and this autonomy, coupled with man’s militaristic aims, causes the machines to turn on its creator. It is up to that point that the 9 can be compared to Terminator. After that, the comparison falls apart. In the post apocalyptic world of 9, unlike Terminator, all of humanity has been vanquished, and only potato sack replicas, imbued with the spirit of their inventor, are left to continue man’s legacy. The inventor’s spirit is manifest in literally 9 potato sack figures, who must decimate the last machines that are hell bent on their annihilation. The movie only gives a cursory glimpse into the back-story that culminated in the current world devoid of humans we are seeing. The bulk of the film follows the 9th potato sack character, as he discovers his counterparts, and compels his counterparts to come out from hiding and defeat the machines that have been such a menace to them. Granted, the story line is almost skeleton like in its simplicity, but the movie makes up for that in superb animation. To make potato sacks life like is one thing which I have never seen done, but to make CG created potato sacks look life like is quite a unique feat. The action sequences were engaging, and they really made you feel like you were immersed in the conflict. Its sad to say that a simple little film like this, with purely non-live action, was a far better action film than this year’s chaotic “Gamer”. If you are looking for a great storyline, don’t see this film. If you are looking for some unique animation, which doesn’t try to wow you with trying to make people or toys look life like, then this movie is for you.

this movie was so goddamnd boring... i actually feel asleep for about 30 minutes.... I HAVENT SLEPT IN A MOVIE THEATER IN YEARS... this movie was not nearly epic enough to warrant the use of "welcome Home" as the trailer song.
